I just wanted to share my experience buying exhaust parts from TOCE. I bought a used Y Pipe from eBay. It was missing the header adapter pipe. I emailed TOCE to see if they can sell me a replacement. They don't usually sell their exhaust parts in pieces so they had to check for me.
They emailed me back with a price so, I called them to finish the order. The Customer service was amazing. They had to make a custom quote for me because the parts are not in their database.
I was telling her how disappointed I was that my friend had a great integrated light kit on his 2006 R1 but, they don't have one for the 2007-2008. The rep put me on hold on so she could check something out. She found a discontinued one that has been sitting around the shop and sold it to me for a great price!!!!!! I am very happy with my experience with TOCE and I am excited that I have a rare discontinued part for my bike!! I wanted to give the CS lady a shoutout but I forgot her name.
If you really want to make her day, write an email to the company saying what you put here, thanking her for going above and beyond. Include an order number if you can so they can track it back to her. Often times CS will get negative experiences reported to their managers, but it's rare to have someone contact again when they had an excellent service. The managers and the employees both really appreciate it.
I don't have plans to Dyno tune or flash tune it right now. I purchased it for the looks and the improved exhaust note. Also, I'm on Oahu and I don't use the full power of the R1 at all. I don't have plans to track the bike...for now.
I am installing a Power Commander V with the Y pipe and slipons.
I've never been a fan of the look but it's definitely better than stock. I can find hundreds of integrated tail lights for every R1 year, not sure why'd you think it's "rare".
It is rare because TOCE only sold "their" integrated tail lights for a short time. They do not make it anymore so, it is rare from that manufacturer. The significance to me....comes from the fact that "Natalia" went out her way to assist me when she did not have to. I did not say it was a rare custom part.
SN: I remembered her name!!! and I am happy with all the parts I bought for my R1. Its dope!!
Thats like asking if blondes or brunettes are better:grin2: Impossible question to answer because everyone has a different preference in sound but the Toce is nothing like a Leo. I had the Leo blacks 3/4 system on my 09 and to this day that was still the best sounding bike ive ever owned but when i heard that same gen R1 with the Toce i was looking at where to buy right after. If i still owned that R1 id be on a Toce with a damn good flame suit lol The leos are a really loud system but because of the larger cans and the baffling its a more refined rumble, the toces are pretty much straight piped with "some" baffling so it sounds really raw. I hate to compare it to a high hp muscle car because these are bikes but thats what i mean by raw.
Last year in may I bought a 2016 YZF-R1S, I never even rode it with the stock
Exhaust. A good friend of mine had an 09 (I think) with the under-seat toce quad pipes and I fell in love, so I picked up the Toce? 2015-16 Yamaha R1 GP Single Tip 3/4 Cat Delete Exhaust System, straight from the dealer. I cannot comment on the HP gains (or losses) but what I can comment on is how much better this pipe makes the bike look and sound. I love this exhaust and have yet to even see another 2015-16 R1 on the road in my color scheme, let alone one with the same exhaust. So if you ask me I got exactly what I wanted. I for one do not understand the hate and contempt for the guys at Toce and the products they make. It's a genuine American handcrafted product, and it makes me happy to know I supported them. I would love to know what the dyno numbers look like in addition to though.
We just became brothers! My first exhaust purchase ever was on my 02 R6 and i got the D&D slip on and i use to get ragged on by all my buddies because it was so loud>
Very nice! They came out great. Are the heat shields OEM?
