Ensure there are no cracks on the top of the new mechanical seal. Imspect the shaft of the impeller to check for pitting. If you find any replace the impeller. ALWAYS REPLACE OIL PAN GASKET.

i took my r1 waterpump off and replaced it, i put it back together and it started fine , i took it for a little ride and my temp jumped up to 255 and i kept hearing a little click , i checked the radiator cap and thermostat, fan all were working fine, any idea why its heating up so high and the clicking noise
I'm on the case at the very momwnt as my oil pump gone last week giving me a lot of pudding lol from the sump hole.
Definitely no need to remove the clutch basket.
Sprocket jumps out of the chain fairly easy with a little bit of wiggling one the whole pump is bolt free and loose.
Good luck
I'm needing those orings anda gaskets to my water pump system, where can I find it ?
