Repsol 10w-30, find a dealer and ask them why. Make sure it is the new version.

You are going to get so many opinions on this, and everyone thinks they are right. No matter what you use, stay with the name brands in the weight recommended by YAMAHA and you and your engine will feel Superior. Even the top conventional oils are just as good as the high priced full syn. oils, probably you will never know the difference.

Personally I go for price and convenience, and I have used everything in every type of vehicle and never had a problem. Change your oil in short invervals 3- 4 k miles and you will never have an oil related problem.

Here is a forum where peeps report smoother shifts, lower temps, more hp from every oil that is available.

I don't understand why people dislike the search button so much.

I need some of those stickers that make my bike faster.......

Thanks for the replies, I just called the dealership that last changed the oil in my bike and they said they use 20W/50. I called another dealership and they said they use 10w 40. so now I am really confused. I am assuming since the original dealership is saying they use 20W 50 that I should do the same then?

I have an 02 R1 and I run Rotela T 15-40... its great, cheap, durable and it is compatible with wet clutches

It cost me about $11 a gallon

my buddy turned me on to it last year... he has been running it in his turbo'ed Busa since 2000, the bike has been running 320hp at the wheel and it now has nealry 85,000 miles on it...

Once you go Blue you never go back...

well hey I never said she was on the original engine... maybe 20k miles @ 320hp...

the first engine was boosted to 280hp on stock everything... it got boosted when the engine had 40k miles on it and it only made it for about 7k miles... lol

then the bike went back to stock but on nos... then a new engine and boosted to 320hp... so far around 20k miles on the 320hp boosted build

But still an $11 a gallon oil providing Superior perfomance with that many miles and that many HP. This is a real world story of a $11 Walmart oil and Superior performance.
