Mobil 1 4T synthetic 10w-40

Hello everyone,

I am currently running Mobil 1 4T 10W-40 fully synthetic in my 07 R1.

Manual says to use 10W-30

Is 10W-40 acceptable?

You're good, I used Mobil 1 MX4T 10-40 for years (Mobil1 15w50 car oil too) but switched over to Amsoil, a little cheaper and more conveinient (shipped to my door)

Yes you are fine with 10/40 weight oil. Yamaha was on their weird viscosity kick what seems like forever. Now they are " industry correct" with more common numbers. And most guys ran non Yamaha recommended anyway...

Been using the Mobil1 4T 10-40 for many years in all my bikes and have been really happy.

You can find it reasonably cheap at most Autozones.

The manual should list a range of weights dictated by outside ambient temperature. I don't have a 2007 manual in front of me, but I'm almost certain it lists 10w-40 as a recommended weight.

Regardless of what the service manual says, there must be like a billion people using 10w-40 motor oil (motorcycle oil that is) in their bikes.

Bogie is the man, and I should learn not to mess with him
