I believe it. The tires on my track bike have a total of 8 days on them. Two of them at Jennings GP running 2 out of 3 sessions for most of the days. The rear is roasted but the front will go several more. Before I got into really dialing on the bike I would get about 2-3 days total out of a set.

I realized that my tires must be defects because it looks like they added more rubber to the sides than normal.

Yep, rear is gone after 3, but that front gave me another one for a fourth, I probly could pull one more out of her but I doubt it.

You're doing good, but try to explain damping in terms of slow or fast. It's less confusing.

Without pushing on the bike, I'd believe rex's bike to be a little slow on the rebound. It's fighting for traction after irregularities on the road surface. Opening the rebound a few clicks would clean that rear tire right up.

Looking at the front, we have rubber chewed off the trailing edge of the sipes, with a debris buildup on the leading edge. That is likely rebounding too fast. Adding a click or two to the forks should settle that.

Of the two (since I'm not crazy about changing too much too fast) I would focus on the rear. Especially since that is the wheel that gets the power.

In any case, neither is a huge problem, but it could be a little better. Might make the difference of getting an extra track day out of the set, or few hundred miles on the track
I'll try to remember next time

Actually I had some help, Dave Moss helped me get the bike dialed in a bit. The previous wear was from too stiff a suspension eating one side of the sipe something terrible as the tire could not move quick enough on the rebound side. There is an issue with this wear pattern yet but it is 100% rider error... (still late on the throttle out of the corners as I stand the bike back up)

same brand after modifying my riding style a bit..

If you're out dragging knee on a busa, you'll love the R1.
