1. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER FOR 60 DAYS BEFORE YOU SELL OR TRADE ANYTHING ON THE R1-FORUM.
No, we are not being harsh, or controlling. This is an attempt to eliminate the spammers, the "bots", and last but not least, the thieves out there on the net. It protects everyone involved. These rules are non-negotiable and are set by the Administration. They are strictly enforced on the R1-forum by the Marketplace Moderators.
Legit join dates from the R6-Forum are accepted. Understand that most of the R1-forum moderators do not visit the r6-forum very often. So if you are an active member of the R6-forum then make it known in your for sale thread by posting up your join date and your username on the R6-forum.
2. POSTING ETIQUETTE IN THE MARKETPLACE SECTION.
There is a huge tendency to post up negative comments when someone lists an item for sale that others consider "overpriced". Negative comments will not be tolerated and will be removed at the discretion of the Marketplace Moderators. To put it simply - If you don't have anything good to say, keep it to yourself. Members who make negative replies will be warned and possibly banned for continued abuse.
3. VENDORS (OR PEOPLE SELLING QUANTITES OF THE SAME ITEM) MUST FIRST CONTACT FORUM ADMINISTRATION.
Please contact the Forum Administration (SpidermanSS or Admin) to get information on becoming a Forum Sponsor or Forum Vendor before posting items for sale. Buying for the sole purpose of re-selling qualifies as being a vendor and requires sponsorship with the R1-forum. If anyone is found to be selling multiples of the same item(s) through our Private Message system, they will be banned immediately as this is a severe violation. Becoming a forum vendor is very easy and it does not cost much as it's only $49 per month. Click this link to become a forum vendor... www.r1-forum.com/forums/payments.php
4. NO EBAY, CRAIGSLIST, CYCLETRADER TO BE USED TO SELL ITEMS.
Obviously everyone knows there are millions of scammers on all these sites. If you have stuff on auction on eBay, then sell it on eBay. We will not allow any linked items to be advertised here. Also, if a moderator finds your bike on one of these sites, your thread will be removed. Making our members compete with the world to buy something for a higher price is just WRONG
. List your for sale items here, if they don't sell, then take them to eBay. If the moderators find your items on any of these sites your for sale thread will be removed without notice.
5. THERE WILL BE NO "AUCTION STYLE" SELLING HERE.
If you post an item for sale and it says anything like "I will take the highest offer" it will be removed. If you want to run an auction, take it to eBay. There must be an asking price for each and every item you are selling. Saying or best offer is allowed but only with an asking price.
6. NO SELLING FOR YOUR FRIENDS.
You can not attempt to sell items for your "firends". This is a violation of our 60 day rule, as it is a work-around for selling parts before 60 days. Tell your friend to join the r1-forum and then wait 60 days before attempting to sell said items.
7. ADDING DETAILS AND PICTURES TO YOUR FOR SALE THREADS.
Please take some time and add as much detail as possible. Describe your item in the title, the more details the better. Post an asking price, easy to find, not just lost in the paragraph of description. Each item should have it's own asking price, then you can negotiate from there. No more make me an offer threads, these will be removed. The more details you can give the better chance you will have of selling... i.e. location, color, size, year, make, model, mileage, damage, build date
, etc., etc. Post up the most current pictures possible, these are a must have
. Your potential buyers will not want to buy your items if they can not see them. Make sure to take pictures from every possible angle. If you are selling a bike, you must post a picture showing the actual mileage on your odometer. This is absolutely a must have if you are selling a bike
. There is no such thing as too many pictures! Again, your potential buyers want to see what you are selling. If you do not post up the required pictures... check out our latest rule thread. If you do not post up required pictures = thread removed, no exceptions
. Click this link to see the new picture rule thread... www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297690
. Oh and one last thing... if you can't take the time to post actual pictures in your for sale threads then you don't have time to sell here and your thread(s) will be removed.
8. OMISSION OF INFORMATION IS ALSO KNOWN AS FRAUD.
For example: If you are selling a leather suit that has a 9 inch tear in it you need to disclose that information to the buyer. Do not tell the buyer that the suit is in "good condition".
If its determined that you defraud a member by failing to disclose crucial facts about your items, your access to this section will be restricted and you may be banned from the forum.
9. USE THE MARKETPLACE FORUMS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
There are a lot of scams out there on the internet so take precautions in your business ventures. THE R1-FORUM WILL NOT
BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSSES AS A RESULT OF USING OUR MARKETPLACE FORUMS. As a suggestion: sellers should always use delivery tracking options (for example: USPS Delivery Confirmation & Signature Required) to avoid conflicts from buyers saying they never received their items. Buyers, get to know the seller before you blindly send out your hard earned money. If something seem to good to be true then it probably is. If you have any suspicions, please contact one of the Marketplace Moderators before sending your money.
10. RESPECT FELLOW MEMBERS.
This section is a great place to make a few extra bucks and occasionally new friends. Please be respectful to your fellow members. Maybe try selling here to a member instead of eBay, maybe save them a buck or two. If you have any questions, problems or concerns feel free to contact any of the marketplace moderators.
11. PLEASE GO BACK AND EDIT YOUR POSTS WHEN THE ITEM SELLS.
Please go back and edit your first post and mark the items that have sold. This will help eliminate old threads from coming back up, as well as help those looking for specific items.
12. INCLUDE YOUR LOCATION IN YOUR FOR SALE THREAD
Verify your location is either listed in your profile or you make mention that the item is located/being shipped from where you are located.
13. ASKING FOR PAYPAL FEES AND/OR GIFT PAYMENT THROUGH PAYPAL
PayPal provides 'Paypal Buyer Protection' which allows you to dispute a transaction for two reasons only: Item Not Received (INR) and Significantly Not as Described (SNAD). Buyers and Sellers are not protected when money is sent as a gift. Accepting money through paypal is a choice and you assume the fees for such a choice. Any ad asking for Payment through PayPal gift will be removed. Any ad asking for PayPal fees will be removed.
Lastly, don't forget the Buyer/Seller Feedback forum.
This forum can be found by clicking the link below. Be sure to express a good or bad experience with your buyer or seller, and let others know what to expect. Also be sure to check there for a member if you are concerned BEFORE
you buy. You can access this forum by clicking on this link... www.r1-forum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=43

2. List shipping options and prices, pick-up or delivery options for the buyer.
3. Again, be sure to add "SOLD" once your items are sold.
