I'm doing a track bike build and I mounted the triples with an ohlins steering damper. There is a bracket that mounts to the top of the left side lower triple that accepts the damper.
Problem is when I mount it.. it's on a hell of an angle. And although it doesn't seem to bind or anything. It sure doesn't seem right.
Seems to me it should mount so that it's parallel with the triple.
Just add a bolt like you did to get it parallel. Race triples are not made to work with stock setup or even the stock upper fairing mount. The joys of modding. :crash
Theres no way to get it parallel that I see. This has to be able to be done. Graves designed it to work with the stock frame which is where the center of the damper mounts. Just don't make sense! UGH! This is pissing me off lol
Kangaroo. If you look at the first picture it shows the angle it sits at without the adapter to the triple installed.
second pic shows the adapter.. third picture shows the angle it's now at after the adapter is installed..relative to the triple. It's pretty crooked
TBH, I've seen a lot worse. Some of the damper setups for old race bikes I've seen have the eyelet angles at full compression look quite alarming. Yours looks very good by comparison.
I don't remember that bracket on my lower Graves triple clamps. Don't think they redesigned it from the original.
