No gas gauge? 2010 R1

I just got my new baby. However, I can't see how much gas I have left. Can't find it in the manual... >.<

No actual gauge. There is a light that comes on for low fuel when you hit .9 gallons.

You have to activate PRM to get the dash to display the digital fuel level gauge.

What do you think this is....a Honda?

Haha, my last bike was a 600RR. I miss that gas gauge BUT I like the R1's dash a lot better.

Yea, no Yamaha SS's come with an indicator for how much fuel you have left. Once the light comes on, I just go to the gas station and go from there.

I just sold my 2008 CBR600RR and "graduated" into my R1. :O) The sound on the 09/10 model is unbelievably awesome. I haven't put 100 miles on the tires yet so I haven't opened up the throttle but the power seems nice so far.

But no fuel gauge on the most advanced production bike in the world???

There is something called "Instantaneous Fuel Consumption. I think that may tell you how many miles you have left until you hit reserve. So I guess that's better than a fuel gauge. More precise anyway.

So happy to join the R1 family!!!!!!!!!

It's hardly the most advanced production bike in the world. And why the need for a fuel gauge? Just reset your odo when you fuel up and keep an eye on things...if you start to get to 140 or so miles and you still haven't seen a fuel light on your dash...it might be time to take a look at the fuel level in the tank. Otherwise just watch for that light and know you have about 20 miles before you earn a great workout.

Blasphemy! What is more advanced than this cross-plane cshaft goodness? (Don't mention the S1000RR). :oP

yeah i just top off the tank. run it till the light comes on...with normal riding (off and on agressive riding) then after a few times of that i got an average of how car i went on the tripometer before the light popped on. I'm at roughly 115-120 miles until the light. so I know if im in the middle of nowhere or about to head out into a long stretch of road with no gas stations..i need to fill up.
once the light comes on it highly depends on how your riding. i was in A mode, about 70-80 mph and pushed it to about 25 miles

Some more info for you. When I first got my '09 the fuel light would come on at about 110 miles. Once the motor is broken in, it should come on at about 140-150 miles. Of course, depending on your riding habits, it may be less....

Just a word of warning, with the '09+ R1's, if your gas light comes on you better be damn close to a gas station or you're gonna be walking home.

haha i think i remember you went like what..1 mile before it went out. i've hit 25 miles with mine and no stuttering at all. of course i dont do that often i try to fill up once the light pops on

I've had bikes with no fuel gauge. you run out of gas and then flip the petcock to reserve
