Yeah, Ben took his set to a local dealer that had an '02, and not even close.

This explains what I was informed of, http://www.factorypro.com/dyno/true1.html

If I were to use a Dynojet chart I would have gotten 152.32HP which is the number at the top right of my chart.

I see there's a bit of damage to the swinger arm. How bad is it?

Fonzi - does she ever!! Here is a quick video of it idling, it's the first start of the day so it' cold: http://youtu.be/5xuamIwYN1I

T.C. - ya it's not very pretty but just cosmetic. I looked over all of the welds and frame and it seems like something just rubbed up against it, not structural at all woo hoo!

Does any fellow 02/03 owners know if different year R1 factory mirrors are interchangeable?

The reason why I ask is that I want to buy a new set for my bike but I was wondering if I found, lets say 2006 mirrors, if they would be a direct fit. They all seem like they are very similar, if not exact, in the way they are designed and mount.

I'm sure there is someone out there that bought a bike and took the mirrors off for track use or something and no longer wants them. That would be ideal instead of shelling out 140 bucks for a new set. I don't want to go the eBay route because I heard the fitment is horrible.

Any suggestions?

It's been a busy weekend.

Yesterday, I pulled apart the front end, pulled the cluster out, and pulled it apart to replace the lens. My old one had what it appeared to be brake fluid stains and a crack that I'm assuming came from someone trying to get the brake fluid off and pushing too hard. Luckily, my buddy just picked up an '03 R1 for a track bike and allowed me to swap lenses.

Next, I pulled apart the tail to get the taillight out so I can install my Clear Alternatives integrated one. I also pulled the brackets off of the fender eliminator for the old turn signals since the Competition Werkes eliminator allows you to do so without cutting. No pics of it in action because I pulled the battery back out before I took these pics.

Today, I installed my new Pazzo shorties and finally threw away those hideous long, fake carbon fiber ones. I went with black with the gold adjusters.

My new front flushes are in the mail. They should be here next Wednesday. Besides possibly a new set of mirrors, that will be the last thing that goes on before spring.

Integrated tail. Nothing special, just a work in progress pic...taillight in, signals gone....

New cluster lens and Pazzo shorties...

More Pazzos....

Is it spring yet?

Ive been looking at a few mirrors for my 03, I dont like the bulkyness of the stock ones. Has anyone used the pigspotters? I like that theyre short and out of the way but it looks like you would only be able to see your shoulders.. also I kind of like the rizo ones but again with the bulk :/ I have some cheepos on there now but the magnification is ridiculous and I hate them any suggestions is appreciated.

@steiny I think you can find stock mirrors on ebay for 35 a piece if you look hard enough

I have the Magical Racing Type 3 head carbon fiber mirrors - http://www.moto-works.jp/bikes/02_03_yzfr1.html

Mine are on the long black anodized stems, they are vibration free and with a blue convex lense they works very well, but are a bit spendy. Fit & finish is excellent

Dylan (xdonnydarkox) has some MV Agusta mirrors on his 03 and they are really sweet looking, they are painted in the OEM red to match the upper and look like they were made for it

Thanks for the link. I've been trying to figure out what mirrors you were running. I asked a while back in this thread but I think you might of missed it.

Anyways, I like the type 1's but I think they are out of my price range at the moment. Do you or anyone else have any other suggestions? I can't seem to find anything. The only thing I've found that is close to what I want are the Targa's but I'm worried about fitment quality. There isn't a whole lot of reviews for them online.
