Greetings R1 riders

Hello to everybody. I am new on this forum board and although I don't ride an R1 yet I do aspire to when the time is right. I am currently riding a 2007 Daytona 675 but eventually will find my way on a liter bike so my bike has a friend. Preferably a low mileage 2009+ R1 but only time will tell. Just wanted to say hello to all and ride fast safe.

I really wish I could try one out. Does it feel like a twin? I worked for many years at euro dealers in So FL & got to borrow Triumph & Ducati demos but when I worked for Japanese shops they wouldn't let me borrow bikes. Since they did the cross plane the R1 seems to be the Ducati slayer. I dunno how much this translates in the Moto GP but Lorenzo is one of my favorite riders on the grid next to Stoner. This guy decimates & everyone seems to rather talk about Rossi. I guess the proof is in the pudding even if it is GP. Now he comes back to Yamaha but I think Lorenzo will still be overshadowing Rossi at this point in both their careers. I am in love with the 2010 R1 but even the earlier models are wicked. If you compare even the 2009 YZF-R6 to the Daytona 675 you will see the difference technology makes before you even ride the bike. Triumph tends to keep the same design for many years but Yamaha is always thinking about what's next. I rode a 1098 for a few miles and while I love it, it was a bit too much for the street in terms of being uncomfortable when you are going slow in traffic. I bet the R1 is more comfortable on the street?
