Garage doors

Hey all I just bought a house, and it doest have a garage door opener installed, and me being the full blooded American that I am, Im to lazy to get out of the car and open it to pull the car in. I see that there are a lot of options out there, but im not exactly sure as to what to look for in a system, and what name brands are good. Do any of yall have any suggestions?

If you got a few bucks to spend, check out the Craftsman setup that you can control from your smartphone. Only downside is that there is a monthly charge for the app. If mine ever craps out, that will be the one I buy.

LIftmaster. 1/2 horse enough if its steel door. Chaindrive is little noisier than belt or screw drive, If you have a room above it i would go with belt drive(for noise).

The craftsmans are good openers all the way around. The ones I have in my big garage I think are called LINK?? They work well also

Without looking at the catalog I would say yes it is. Keep in mind. Sometimes simplicity has its good points as well (less to break down/easier to maintain) Ive had about 20 years of service out of one craftsman with no trouble, and my plain ol LINKS ten years no trouble

look at the liftmaster 3280, 1/2hp and a belt drive. If you have a double garage with one wide door, consider one with 3/4hp.
