Bushmaster gun company is being SOLD!

Looks like the private equity company that holds the majority interest in Bushmaster assault rifle company is selling it. Rather its from pressure, profit, or something that was in the works ,seems like odd timing. From the outside looking in it seems like the company doesn't want blood on its hands.
Walmart are pulling Bushmasters from its catalog , as well as Dicks Sporting Goods are pulling certain rifles.

Today's Talkers
*Dick’s Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) pulling some semi-automatic guns from shelves
*Walmart (NYSE: WMT) pulls Bushmaster rifle from online catolog.
*Private equity firm Cerberus has put U.S. firearms maker Freedom Group up for sale following the Connecticut school shooting. Freedom Group includes Bushmaster, maker of the rifle used in the tragedy.

Is Chinamart pulling all AR's from their stores or just the Bushmasters? If it's just the Bushmasters and they leave the Colts and Sigs on the shelves, well, all you can do is laugh at them.

Maybe Trying to Salvage what they can, before the Mega-Ban comes and puts them out of business anyway.

Next up.......

Cheaper Than Dirt! is suspending online sales of firearms effective immediately. We are reviewing our policy internally, and will continue to be the leader in the outdoor industry with our full line of gear and accessories.

well, with ZERO fear or worries of pissing off the powerful gun lobby and their constituents, now that Obama was voted in again by the drones, this is but a mere taste of the shit storm he is easily capable of unleashing now that his re-election concerns are non-existant. You voted for it, enjoy it.

To add insult to injury, Hasbro has announced they are making gender-neutral Easy Bake ovens.

because only bushmaster brand is evil...that's what was used. If Bushmaster wasn't sold, this would have never happened.

I saw this. Some little activist girl kept sending them letters requesting easy bake ovens colored for boys

Thats why fertilizer should be outlawed as well, then no one would have bombed the federal building at OKC and way more people died there.

Cerebrus is clearly making a financial-only decision to sell Bushmaster. They are protecting the non-volatile part of their business from being hurt by the volatile part. It would be great to think gun mfr's were owned by people with interest in the product, but the sad reality is investment firms own a LOT of gun mfrs. I wouldn't trash Bushmaster over this, it is completely out of their hands, and they will likely land somewhere better than where they're at now, especially because the seller doesn't have a lot of room to reject reasonable offers if they're already this scared of their investors.
