Bike dies when shift into gear while still holding clutch

Hopefully someone can help me. I let my cousin ride my bike around the block and he dumped it. It was a low speed fall so I replaced the plastics, brake lever both front and back, frame savers, ect. Well I just went to go test drive it and when I put the bike in gear while holding the clutch it just clunks and dies. It souds like when you put the bike in gear without holding the clutch. The cable works fine. Im not sure what could be the problem. Thanks

My immediate thought too.

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.......

Kick Stand Safety? When u lift up your kickstand, it engages a button which tells the bike the kickstand is up. I'd check and make sure that is working properly first.

Survey says:"kick stand down!"

If its not working, you may have broke or displaced the clutch safety switch.
