Thanks again man, I appreciate it.

Meister37, Thanks also. Looking forward to meeting you and doing some riding!

Is there anything short of cleaning that I can do to help? I'm gonna still read up on suspension setups and all that (I'm knee deep in the killer R1 suspension setups thread now) just because I want to know how to do it for future reference.

You'll learn how to do it all in time...no worries there. suspension takes several helpers anyway

Read up on the basics. The Killer R1 Suspension thread tells people what worked for someone else. If you want your bike to work well for you, set it for you. There's a learning curve involved, but you are getting with a good crowd that will help you figure it all out.

Signature by SpidermanSS. Thanks Shane!

Definitely. Right now I'm just trying to familiarize myself with suspension in general. I will understand more when I get with the guys above and they help me out. Thanks Dan!

What are some of you guys running as far as suspension setups? I mean do most of you prefer Ohlins or Racetech or ?? How has it helped you at the track? Just curious as to who likes what and why..

It's all preference and wallet man.

Some people will swear by Ohlins, and get passed by guys with Racetech or stock stuff. You just have to decide what best fits your budget. It's all good stuff, it's all race proven and tested. You really can't go wrong.

Ohlins R/T + TTX MKII

Love it, helped build confidence because the bike felt great with it.

Nice stuff! There is something about Ohlins rear shocks..

That's what I'm looking for. Not necessarily Ohlins... I'm after confidence in my bike. That way I can focus on riding and not worry about anything but riding. Bingo!

Dan is correct though...ride the stock stuff until it isn't doing something you need it to. Unless you really have some money to toss at the bike. Saving money for trackdays will make you far better and faster than any part can

Again, I'm not one to stop you from spending money, but if you need to choose between parts and trackdays...pick trackdays

Agreed. Learn to outride the stock ability and upgrade.

Nothing makes you better than seat time... Besides bionic arms

Agree! that is why for an unskilled rider yet i strongly suggest do not to spend thousands $$ on expensive racing parts. It is best to set properly the stock machine and get focus on training your riding abilities. The difference between top tech racing vendors are a fraction of miliseconds while the difference between a skiled rider vs a novice on the same bike are dozen of seconds.
