What's going on, everyone? My name is Robert and I live in the Charlotte area. I just moved here about six months ago. I've been wanting an R1 since 2006 and finally got one two weeks ago. Picked up a '13 with around 9,500mi on it(aprox 10,300mi on it now). I have no problem riding in colder weather. So if anyone in the area would still like to get up and ride this year, just let me know. I look forward learning more on here, talking to everyone, and hopefully meeting up with some of you!
@Kevap-I would ride in MI with heated gear and clear roads, hahaha. I made the mistake of riding four-wheelers during winter in Iowa with out layers or even a good jacket. I could only imagine 80+mph in Michigan winter. 40 degrees is pretty much my limit until I get heated gear. @mefistofeles- The weather here is still pretty nice during the day. I put another 150mi on her today. I'll probably go out tomorrow for a bit as well (and catch part of the games somewhere). 36 degrees was a little chilly on my way to work the other morning though, lol.
Thanks everyone

I'll have to do that some time. I went with a group of friends from Winston-Salem up to Durnham and Mt. Airy a couple weeks ago. It was over four years since my last group ride. Definitely want to do some more.
I'm about 3 hours east of you. You need to come out to NCBike sometime. It's a great track. I also make a couple trips a year to Deals Gap, which isn't too horribly far from you. Nonetheless, there are some good options for us here in NC.
NCBike is on the list for a group of us next year. Along with VIR and Atlanta. Deals Gap is also a place I want to try even though I've heard a lot about cops and traffic (like what BMS said). The old man lives in Tennessee and mentioned getting another cruiser after I got the R1. Probably a perfect meeting point for us.

Just the way they are organized. I ran a day at Summit Main with them, and their intermediate group was quite a bit slower on average than the N2 intermediate group. Don't know if I caught them on a bad day, or what but there was also markedly more red flags too...:dunno
