i'm not sure exactly what this is, but i'm hoping it's nothing serious.........when moving really slow, with very little (or no) throtle and letting the clutch out slowly, my bike makes a knocking noise.......it goes away once the revs come up..........what's going on?? any thoughts would be welcome

Rev. the bike alittle more when taking off, that I believe is the clutch plate chatterring. Mine does it and there was a tread a while ago with this same info!!:fact

I still get that occasionally. My R1 riding friends tell me it's because my clutch is set too close to the grip.

Try to set the clutch further and see if it helps.

I was just about to post a question about this. I get it too, under 1600 RPMs, usually.

I also feel like I have a big dip in power between 1500 and 2k rpms. When I'm just tooling around town I always seem to hit that dead spot in a tight slow turn.

I didn't notice it before I changed my exhaust and I was wondering if it was a side-effect of lower backpressure, or a problem with the ex-up, or just an artifact of tuning the FI to pass emissions.

Anyone else experience this? Anyone find that a PCIII made it go away?

Yeah my 99' chatters too. Even in neutral, clutch out, itll do it. Its quieter but i still hear it.:(
