Hi Guys,

I'm looking into purchasing some leathers to match the color of the "Team Blue Yamaha" on the R1. I've looked into a few different brands, ie: Joe Rocket, Alpinestars, AGV, First Gear, but they all seem to have a different "shade" of the blue. Either it's too light, or more purple-ish than blue.

It doesn't have to be an exact match, but at least somewhere close to the ballpark. Everything I've seen in person seems to be way out in left field. Is it hard for the mfgs to get the right color blue?

Even the factory leather suit featured in the Yamaha GYR-T catalog is off. I saw it in real life, and it was a bit purple-ish as well.

The textile jackets seem to be a little bit closer in match, but as far as leathers go... I can't seem to find one that has a decent shade.

Maybe another brand? Suggestions?

I like my Alpinestars Stunt jacket a lot, blue is a good match, but yeah like you mentioned hard to find an exact match...but hey does it NEED to be an exact match?

Yeah the A* stuff is definately quality. However, I don't know why all the volume mfgs (A*, Spidi, Teknic, JR, etc etc) can't make/get a brighter blue.

As with any color there are zillions of shades, but thusfar, all the so called blues I've seen seem to be more purplish blue or dark navy blue. Nothing in between which would be a lot nicer.

Sure it doesn't have to be an EXACT match, but a little bit closer would be nice.

I guess I could go custom, but that's just too cost prohibitive, so I guess I just have to deal.

I ended up with a A* TZ-1 by the way.
