Has anyone tried this new rear stand? If so, how do you like it? It's $129 on kneedraggers.com.

Pic didn't stick after I previewed the first post. Here it is:

Saw it on Two Wheel Tuesday. The one draw back is that you cannot see the spool on the other side when doing it. I got a set of stands from Heindlengineering.com. There is a thread on the general forum that has more pics.

I like the new design. It seems that it would be a lot easier to hold the bike while lifting the bike up if your by yourself.

I dont see the advantage, I have never had a problem with putting a bike on a stand by myself.:beer :beer

Don't know if I'll get rid of my traditional pitbull for one of these, but:
1. With it flipped around, there's no handle behind the bike, which is nice if you have a tight garage space.
2. It looks cool

The handle is on backwards :crash

I cannot see any reason why this is advantageous over the normal design. No thanks.

Like mattf said, it would be useful if one had limited garage space. In my case, my bike is butted up against a wall, so the traditional handle wouldn't work. I tried to arrange it so that my car and bike could fit in my garage, but that is the only configuration that works. Aside from that, does this design impede anything or make it awkward to manage?

Looks like with the new stand you can choose to have the handle going forward or backwards? Is that correct? Do you have two options on how you want to raise your bike?

I picked up the forward handle and it works just fine. You can hold the bike up by the handle bars and if you lean over you can see the other spool no problem. With a rear seat cowl and not many places to hold the bike upright, this is a better solution for me.

as a side note, if you place a small wheel on the end of the handle, you can easily roll the bike back and forth.

These might be nice for the single guy I am always worried about my bike falling over when I put it up on the stand while in back so I have to put the front up first.

The problem as I still see it is they dont have a hook or something for the spools. so when you are trying to get it lined up you dont scratch up underneath the spool when trying to get it lined up and cant see it.

It also seems that with the bar coming out the back on the opposite side of the kick stand it woul be hard to make sure both sides come up evenly without alot of tippage.

Feedback from someone that has used both types?

someone tell me....this may be a stupid question, but what is the purpose of getting a bike stand if you don't race at the track and you still have the kick stand? Does the kick stand not hold up? What's the deal? Is it for looks? I've been thinking about getting some, but I haven't figured out the actual need...my kick stand works just fine...

I dont like letting mine sit on the tires and stand all winter...not something you have to worry about in cali... but its really nice while changing the oil or replacing tires. But if you dont work on your bike then dont worry about it.

Ive had mine for about 5-6 months now and I would rather have the "old" style. It is harder to get things lined up with this style and I end up scratching up my swingarm. And to answer the question "can you use this in either direction" YES.

I use the stands for working on the bike but I also like to keep mine on the stands to eliminate accidental tip-overs. Everyone should have stands, in my opinion. Why risk it?!
