My skins are getting a little slick. I want new ones for next season. I have dunlops now, always have. I was thinking of switching and want to know what everyone is on out there. I was thinking either pirelli or avon. also I have a brand new D207 in my closet for about 2 years now. bought it as a set and never needed it. i read some where that time is an enemy to the rubber compound as well so it is probably no good anymore. am I right??

:jump :butt so.... clintb you ride the extra long ones huh??? I heard good things about the pilot powers. I haven't been able to find any articles on how the different tires perform on different sportbikes. ie handling etc.

Ran 2 sets of Dunlop 208s, now running Diablo Corsas. Just got a chance to go out and run them pretty hard and they are much better.

Thanks for the info gents:thumbup keep it coming. any one running Avon or metzlers? nobody seems to be big fans of Dunlop. except Yamaha. what are the '04 and '05 r-1's running? are different tires better suited for different brands of bikes. oh yeah, can I just check what brand the Yamaha racers are on and just get the street version?

ok so what about this....michelin pilot sports VS pilot powers... VS...pirelli diablos VS diablo corsas Two Options: You buy all the tires and i'll let you know what i think... OR!!! We should get 4 riders with the same bikes, get the suspensions setup, and each rider take the bike out and safely flogg it :rock It would be like a real bike comparison. Any takers? I'll offer up mine as long as the other 3 guys know what they hell they are doing! Each guy would be responsible for what they are riding. Any body in SLC UT area wanna give this a run? ~P

I hated the dunflops took them off after 800 miles. and it's been nothing but Michelin H2's since.

I run Diablo Corsas; however, I run a good bit of track days. I wouldn't recommend them for the street. Even though they offer tremedous grip they wear out fast! If I was running just a street up street tire with no track days then I would just save the money and get the plain jane Diablo. BTW, I'm not impressed with Dunlop either.

i have n't tried any dunlops but the corsas are very good for both street and track use.i admit that the wear off quickly but that is something to expect when they grip so well!!

So what sort of mileage WILL you get from a set of Pirelli Diablo Corsa's on the rear versus normal Diablo's? Normal riding....(yes I know that is subjective!)... jdm

kochatzi
11-21-2004, 02:45 PM
the mileage of the corsas are about 3200 miles, but i don't think that is for normal use.i don't get that many miles if i get some trackdays...but i ride them hard at corners
