I thought you might like to see the ZX-10r I just built.
I know this is an R1 forum but.....Gregg's Customs 11-03-2004, 01:31 PM I thought you might like to see the ZX-10r I just built. Gregg's Customs 11-03-2004, 01:32 PM :corn slutty 11-03-2004, 01:33 PM NOT diggin the blue rims...........but everything else :thumbup Southern118 11-03-2004, 01:35 PM you and single sided swing arms Gregg's Customs 11-03-2004, 01:37 PM Yes, I like the single sided swingarms. It's so easy to take the back wheel off. That's really the only reason that I like them. YAMMAX 11-03-2004, 01:38 PM very trick LINK80Reid 11-03-2004, 02:05 PM Not a fan of the blue wheels, gold would look better, but looks good other than that. baer42 11-03-2004, 02:07 PM Yuk............Sorry Wheat 11-03-2004, 02:21 PM looks good but that swingarm looks like it would flex under hard accelaration.:crash xdonniedarkox 11-03-2004, 02:26 PM I think it is pretty smooth. So hard to find something original with so many 'clone' bikes. Nice work Gregg.... flyinR1 11-03-2004, 02:30 PM I love it, but like was said, i would be concerned with swingarm flex with all the horsepower these bikes are puttin out these days ThundeR1cat 11-03-2004, 02:34 PM not really sure about the colors, orange, blue and black? but the single arm conversion is due to turn some heads for sure awseome job Dour1 11-03-2004, 02:42 PM i hear o lot of bad things aboput onesided swing arms.
I know ducs have them and i really like teh way trhe look i want to put it on an r1. but heer are my question and you guy maybe can help me out here. To those that do have it on their bikes, do u sacrifice safety fro looks. will it bend under so much HP? is it as stable as stock swing arm? How easy is it to install it? does it put more preasure on one side of the frame more than the other? Which one is the best to get? ASHMAN 11-03-2004, 02:43 PM hhmmmm..I "think" I like it. Not to sure yet dsiRed1 11-03-2004, 02:49 PM sweet ride! Hugh Jass 11-03-2004, 02:51 PM :rock  :thumbup I think the colors are pimp! The blue wheels contrast the orange in a good way. Although it wouldnt look as bold with a conventional swingarm. Nice job though.
:riding gdouglas 11-03-2004, 02:52 PM It's pretty nice, but I'm still not to sure about the Blue Rims either. Skanky 11-03-2004, 03:03 PM By the looks of the rear tire wear, at least he's riding it! Master Chief 11-03-2004, 03:18 PM I love the blue rims - think they go really well with the orange. All Smiles 11-03-2004, 03:20 PM I like the single sided swingarm. What price is that, and is that build the same as for the 2004 R1?
Cheers Gregg's Customs 11-03-2004, 03:44 PM Originally posted by flyinR1

The Blue wheels are definitely "Love or Hate" I just didn't want to be conservative like so many bikes are these days.
In terms of the swingarm. I've built 15 of them and I've personally run 4 of them on the track. This bike has been to Thunderhill twice and Infinieon Raceway once. These arms are quite a bit stronger than the stock arms. If you can't handle it, oh well. All Smiles 11-03-2004, 03:50 PM Swingarm price??....
Cheers
:thumbup 911919 11-03-2004, 03:57 PM can anyone photoshop the front rim orange and the back rim black. still...that is a stunning bike. OldscholVett&R1 11-03-2004, 03:58 PM i like.....looks good:thumbup dsiRed1 11-03-2004, 04:53 PM sweet ride! xdonniedarkox 11-03-2004, 05:03 PM Gregg-
I wanted to ask you if it is possible to make swing arm sans welds, being sanded off flush?? I know that the welds are what give it propriety and integrity, but is it possible to sand them flush or not possible due to compromised integrity??
Thanks Southern118 11-03-2004, 05:05 PM i do know gregg was on the track with the r1 so it has to be stable if he plans on running it on the track. i wish i could have one but i need a new bike first Mickey_D100 11-03-2004, 05:09 PM :thumbup
Jury's still out on whether I like the blue, but there is another member who used to post here, evilR1, and sometimes still does, who had a very nicely customed orange R1 with blue rims. It grew on me after awhile, as I suspect yours will do. LOVE the SSSA and exhaust, for sure. I saw the thread title and who it was from and immediately got excited to see some new creations; you do great work Gregg. Are1OneWheel 11-03-2004, 07:39 PM Originally posted by Mickey_D100

You mean Big Daddy? Yeah, I'm diggin the blue rims. Sick job Gregg! :thumbup R1Budha 11-03-2004, 07:43 PM Those wheels look like they would be a bastard to keep clean.....
To many little nooks and cutouts.
Any yeah, it looks very much like evilr1;s bike, or even big daddy's for that matter as far as colors go.
Not as original as some might think. Not that you knew, but i see a lot of Orange and Blue together nowadays. I think it came from the import car guys....:dunno
the SA looks trick, but even ducati gave up on em for ultimate performance. They will flex more than a conventional, for the same weight.
Having said all that, I think it looks badass (as usual from GC) and is sure to turn quite a few heads.
Congratulations on another stunning bike. Mickey_D100 11-03-2004, 08:02 PM Originally posted by Are1OneWheel

Nope, I mean evilr1. :fact
Evil had an orange custom R1 with blue rims; he's the one I was referring to. I know BD's got a ZX, but I had forgotten that his wheels are blue as well.
http://www.throttlejunkies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1796&highlight= Pokey 11-03-2004, 09:33 PM Is that a SATO exhuast can? It looks like one with a custom link pipe.
Looks good but I think I would have gone with Black rims, I like a more simple non flash look. Though I will give props for all the effort and style. Tron 11-03-2004, 09:39 PM nice work greg... Wheat 11-03-2004, 10:00 PM Originally posted by Mickey_D100

www.greggscustoms.com .. there's a whole bunch of Gregg's bikes in the "photos" sections.. :thumbup Gregg's Customs 11-04-2004, 10:54 AM To all the guys that I unknowingly copied....Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I built the swingarm and the pipe myself. The muffler is a left over MIG with my own billet badge on it. I made the mounting bracket myself. The wheels are Marchesini Forged Alu.
Thanks for all the input guys. This bike is for sale if anyone's interested. Southern118 11-04-2004, 10:57 AM your bikes are to expensive for my blood greg but i would love to have it ElectronR1 11-04-2004, 01:29 PM besides the bike being a kawi- I love the orange and blue- LOOKS SWEET!!!!!
