I recently had to decide between a new 03 or an 05 after my last bike was stolen and I opted for the 03 as I loved my last one and the 03 just felt far more focused. :thumbup

If I can't find an unregistered '03 here in the UK, I'll be buying a blade or the ZX10 rather than a '05 R1. Those looks and power characteristics just destroyed the marque for me. :ugh

Sorry to hear about your crash, it sounds like you're OK though and as long as you get to keep your no claims bonus the bike can be replaced though it is pretty tough to lose a bike. The ZX10 is by far the most focused of the 05 bikes and I was also looking at buying a ZX10 though I had loads of bits from my last R1 and got a good deal on a new 03 and so for me it was a no brainer really. Whatever happens you got get a bike soon as the summers always too short.:riding

Took a look at a custom painted '05 yesterday. I've got to admit it looks a completely different bike when you ditch the standard colours. Because of that I'll be ordering a '05 painted in the Yamaha America speedblock colours. I may go a tooth smaller on the front to give it more acceleration from low revs.
