Has anyone changed the front tyre from a 120/70 too a 120/60 to improve turn in, with a 190/50 on the back?

Would this work the same as changing the back tyre to a 180/55?

Yes the width is narrower on a 180 but it makes the bike sit higher at the back by 5mm also, so lowering the front tyre by 10mm should also make a differance, shouldnt it?

It's not the same, but remember that your front tire is your whole means of traction in the rain so do you really want to lower the profile? Also, make sure you don't put a new front on your bike with a worn rear. Although you can put a new rear with a used front.

Every race bike I have seen in the last few years runs 120/70. Even CBR600s that ran 120/60 as stock went up to a 120/70 in race tyres. I don't think you can get race fronts in a 60 profile any more either.

Don't know why though....
