OK folks..I ordered all three and here's the lo down: CLEAR ALTERNATIVE: AVOID THIS! It's junk! While it's nice that the the housing is included so you don't have to open up yours to change the board, but the LEDs are very dimm. The LEDs are similiar to "dual-filament" They're all lit in running mode (quite dim...not clearly visible during the day). In brake mode..the brightest is intensified. Turn signals are amber...brighter than red. These are the same ones sold by HardRacing.com and ebay for $92. TOBEFAST.COM These are bright. The LEDs are very directional. Looking at it directly...it's very bright. But from a slight angle..the brightness diminishes greatly. The LeDs are NOT dual-filament type. They're on FULL brightness all the time. In running light mode...about half of the red LEDs are lit. In brake mode...an additional 12 LEDS light up to add more brightness. Turn signal LEDs are bright amber. HighTechSpeed.com's UFO is AWESOME! $175 shipped LEDS are clustered into the same shape/position as OEM..utiilzing the lense to amplify the brightness. EVen without the lense it's the same brigtness as CustomLED. Amber LeDs are bright. Best part...control module to control different blinking rates/patterns for both brake and running lights. Allows many different types of flashes to catch attention. Which one did I go with? HighTechSpeed UFO

I just installed the CustomLED board for my 05 R1 tail light. What a difference it made! Super bright, and looks soooo much better than the stock LED board. Love the way the turn signal LEDs flash yellow clearly. Install was a bit tricky but well worth it. Just waiting for my GC billet flushmounts front signals, and GC billet tag bracket to get here tomorrow from Mccoy Motorsports via UPS...:rock

How about some pics. I am very interested in the aftermarket LED set-up.

It looks like stock once you put it all together again. When they are on is when you notice the difference. They are too bright to photograph with my camera. They work great though.... http://img180.exs.cx/img180/1959/lolor1rear9dl.jpg

man I went with the clear alternatives and think only great of them they are cheap and as far as brightness the guys I ride with say that if they look at my taillight then it hurts their eyes so I dont know why you say that they are junk. To each their own I guess.

I personaly paid $54 shipped for the clear alternatives tail light and I love it. It was easy to install, very clean looking, and much brighter than the orginal. I then sold my stock tail light on ebay for $50 shipped.

anyone with the high tech speed taillight, did it change the speed of your signals? I was on the web site, it said it "may" change the speeds. Just wondering before I speed all that money on it.

I got mine form Chaparral motorsports in SB Cali, paid 71$ for it and well work it, I paid $100 for the prev pair, I think I was a test dummy from this place in Chicago, and the cheap thing went out, no more amber, so the 2nd one I bought, is not only brighter, but look better cuz it's a factory plug in :thumbup
