Avon Tires

I am in the market for some new tires and I like the look of the Avons and I heard a few good things but I would like to know if anyone has them and what they think

Tried them once about 6 years ago on a gixxer 750.. I thought they were junk.

i have the avon ss 190 and i like it so far, i have about 2,000 on them now and no wear. no slippage or nothin' ... i bought it on accident though. my friend told me to get the ST not the SP because the st is the sport touring and you can get like 5,000 out of em' .... but anyway, no complaints here.

Been on AVON's since the 70's, I use them on both of my race prepped 04 R1's, specifically the pro extremes, their only DOT tire mind you. They perform just as well as any DOT race tire, they work for me. Its all a matter of perspective, if AVON's were on the top tier like the others in exposure, users will have another choice. Besides, they are quite popular in Europe. In end, I'll always use them, I know how they wear, what psi's work well for them on the 04, my bikes are all track, no street bullshit, so that helps out in the decision process.

New Avon's coming out too, called the Vipers, not sure when you guys in the States will get them though. Ross
