Anyone need a room or bed for East Coast Convention?

Post up here if you are looking for a spot in cabin or have a spot you need filled in a cabin for the East Coast Convention at Deal's Gap. Also, if there are several guys looking for rooms you all might could get together and get your own cabin. But I wanted to start a thread so folks could find a spot if needed. Just so everyone knows there are plenty of cabins up there. I started this so that guys coming alone or folks looking to split a cabin or just need a room instead of a whole cabin can find others looking for the same thing here.

Yes I do need a spot. I can only make it up there Friday night, ride Saturday, and go home on Sunday. If anyone has an opening please let me know.

I'll be getting there late Friday night as well and will need 2 spots. NSDQ, are you going to make any night runs Friday?

No, I'm going to be driving in from the D.C. area, so I'll probably grab one beer and hit the fart sack so I can get some good riding in on Saturday. GAWarrior, Why don't you put a list of names on the first post, that way you do not have to read the entire thread to know WHO is looking. After they pair up, highlight them or group them? Voodoo As for the Food question, can he pay for 1 meal? There are other people also that stated they will not be available for the entire 4 days, just 2 or so:dunno Voodoo

I have at least 3 maybe 4 spots remaining in my Magnolia cabin which will be right in the middle of the action. I am looking for anyone that will be at the Gap for the entire week. Arrive on Monday afternoon and leave on Sunday morning. This is important as I would like to split the costs with everyone evenly. Please post here or PM me if you would like to join us.

Right now this thread isn't too long so they can read through to see who needs what. Second question-I don't mind making some exceptions about the food for sure. But to be honest, Pete aka boxing21 is the one who is handling all that. But, it starts getting really difficult when guys want to only pay for one or two meals as far as keeping up with all that. Plus, it will be even harder to know who is going to be at what meal. You know what I mean. That is why I set a flat rate of $20. Last year it was $15 and we had no problem with everyone paying the full $15. It isn't that much money really even if you only get 2 meals because the food is unbelievable:yesnod. But I am sure Pete will be able to work with special circumstances. I was able to last year. I just don't want to make it a habit with everyone. I hope ya'll understand. Now back on topic with the Rooms and housing issues:thumbup

Thanks! :thumbup Like chad said, if some people only want to eat one or two meals with us, and don't want to pay the money, I will make some exceptions and charge people less.........it will get a little complicated though if there are 45 people who are only eating certian meals with us.

well I paid Jeff's and my food money, if something happens that we can't make it, I'll let Pete keep it for someone who's going and doesent have the x-tra money.

Do ya know anyone? :dunno I have a friend that has a trailer he uses for his Harleys. He says it will fit 2 full sized bikes plus extras. All enclosed with locks and stuff but I don't have a car or truck with a trailer hitch or I'd ask him if i could borrow it.

i am looking for a place to stay also if anyone has any room. would be there weds to sunday/ goodriddance are you driving down or trailering? also may have one more coming not sure yet.any help thanks?

It looks like I might have room in my cabin,, MAYBE, to early to tell yet. The Air Force decided to throw a damn excercise the same week of the convention, so we might not be all able to make it. I'll be able to though due to having my leave scheduled so far out.. I'll keep this updated , Were hoping it gets changed or cancelled, we should know for sure the closer it gets... By the way its a Laurel cabin, not the pimp daddy ones..

That will make it much easier on you, plus you'll feel ten times better coming and going back home.

I am not sure how many people are in each cabin, but he said there are not very many left!!!!!!!!! If you have not made a reservation call ASAP!!!!!!!! 1-800-849-2258 tell them you are with R1-Forum www.fontanavillage.com And if you don't get what you are looking for ask to be on a waiting list for what you want, you might get it if it opens up. It would really suck to not be able to get a cabin at Fontana:yesnod There are other places to stay but you want to stay up there with us for sure. So if you do not have a cabin you might want to get with someone to see what room is available.

Hey NSDQ, How are you getting there, and how many people do you have traveling with you. I would like to go if I could find someone from the area to travel with. If you are serious about going, we could split the cost. I am not sure how much the cabins are but we could reserve one. I usually just get one from uhaul. It's $15 a day. Not bad of a price at all. Would you be willining to tow two bikes. I would get the trailer. I also have an Expedition we could tow it with.
