Ok, I ride kinda hard on backroads. I always wear my leather Gericke jacket, gloves, and jeans.
Yesterday, I put holes in both of my knees of my brand new pair of jeans... including my skin while hihtting the twisties. Here's my question...
Is there anyone who makes pants that aren't quite as agressive as your typical leather pants with knee pucks?I'm looking for a textile kind of pant with the option of attaching knee pucks.
Also, anyone ever sew velcro onto their pants for knee sliders? Or better yet.. how about wearing some rollerblade / skateboarding shin/kneepads under my holey jeans.
Opinions and recommendations appriciated.

Yeah, but I don't think he wants to put holes in his jeans. :D
Maybe you can sew velcro onto your pants and slap on a knee puck. Try www.newenough.com They sell some velcro you can sew on.

I'm not one of those fanatics that insists on wearing leathers every time I get on my bike, but you stated that you were "riding hard", get leathers. If you buy off the shelf you will probably be uncomfortable, I had a set of custom made and I am as comfy in my leathers as I am in jeans.
As far as sewing knee sliders onto your jeans, the denim is not rigid enough to support the slider and the friction of knee dragging, it would merely twist around to the back and you would be dragging a bare knee again.
I did see a picture of someone with strap on knee guards, looked rediculous but I guess it was effective.
Shoot the lock off your wallet and get some leather pants (with knee sliders).

I know leathers would be the best way to go but a lot of my riding is from home to work to school and back. I don't want to show up to class with leathers on. I'm going to try the rollerblade knee/shin gaurd thing I think.

I don't know about other jeans...but the Draggin' Jeans fit real tight. I would doubt the sliders would roll back from the friction. Anyhow, I don't see why anyone would have to drag their knees if they're not wearing leather pants with sliders. :crash
Hmmm... don't want to show up at school wearing leather pants, but don't mind rolling up wearing rollerblade kneepads over jeans...
Just get the leathers with pucks and bring a change of pants with you. People have been doing it for generations. Don't fight it. Your knees will thank you.

Las Vegas extremes uses leather chaps like the harley guys wear , but with pucks sewn to the knees. Also I've seen the chainsaw chaps with pucks sewn to the knees.
Disclaimer.*******Unless you have the skill to justify the chaps with pucks , you will look like a homo.

Police style knee guards. Most come in black or OD Green and use velco with elastic to attach. I have a nice set and they wourk decent for this. Better yet they can fit in the trunk, if its empty. On or off in about 15 sec each.
