I have a 2001 R1 and i bought it in California. Does my bike have less power than the 49 state model? If so, how much less? And what do i need to do to change this?:bs

The only difference should be all the emissions :bs but that will take away some power,you should be ok. Does it feel like it does not have enough power?

It actually feels like it doesn't have as much power as it should.

a little bit like I feel then..

check so your bike is not running too lean or too rich.

Put it on a dyno and see how much HP it's putting on the back wheel.

I saw this on the internet but I forget the site. Try a search at yahoo for yamaha r1 and emission controls. It explains how to kill the eco crap
