Nashville is fine with me. Can anyone do Saturday? Or is Sunday the only day?

Name the time.....

I am doing a cruiser focused memorial ride for a fallen officer in Lawrenceburg on Sat., so Sunday is it for me. If we stick to Sunday, I will meet up with you Zach and we can ride down. As for route, lets incorporate somewhere neat to stop for a late lunch. Story worked well last year and we could do it again. There are tons of places down there, and I think Joe probably knows them as good as anyone. Marengo Cave could be a neat stopping point?

I pretty much open for anything right now.

BTW, I am also asking around the FZ1 forum and on Sportbikes.net. So far it looks like a total of 4 other riders depending on what day......getting a lot of maybes.

COME ON PEOPLE, YOU HAVEN'T RODE IN MONTHS!!!!! ALL THE B.S. AT HOME CAN WAIT.

Lets get a list going. If you know of others or an inaccuracy with the list, please adjust it. As for riding down from Indy together, for now I think it is Paul (Pbfaster), Zach (Sabian), Ryan (argibson, myself), and RocketboiList345 (sorry I cant remember your real name). I think there may be another one or two coming down with me and will add them to the list when I am sure.
1. argibson-Ryan
2. sabian-Zach
3. pbfaster-Paul
4. rocketboi345-?
5. 2001FZ1-Joe
6. courtjester-Mike

Joe, if there is anyway you could put up a nice highlighted map of our route again that would be great. As for route, I am cool with whatever. Lets decide on a time to meet at the BP (or somewhere else) in Nashville, so that us Indy guys can decide when to meet up on the circle.
Cheers,
Ryan

So far no one from the FZ1 board or Sprotbikes.net is going Sunday. We just have a couple for Saturday.

Not sure how long of a ride you guys wanted. But this map hits all the best roads around. There maybe some better roads but they are not as smooth as these.

Start in Nashville, ride about 10 miles past Shoals, turn around and come back through Bloomington and head over to Beanblossom.

Total miles from Nashville to Beanblossom is 180miles. (talk about taking the long way :) )

Or you do you guys want something different. Doesn't matter to me. Meeting time is up to you Indy riders since you have to drive a ways to meet up.......but 10:30 seems to work good for most people on most rides.

Messed up the map but hopefully this shows up right

argibson
04-08-2005, 07:01 AM
Sounds great Joe, thanks for the map. I suggest that all the Indy riders meet up on the circle at the coffee shop at 8:30am on Sunday and then proceed to meet Joe and others at 10:30 at the BP in Nashville. If anyone cant make this speak up now.

8:30! Holy crap man....whatever happened to sleeping in.

Ok, no I'm only kinda kidding. How long does it take to get to Nashville from Indy anyhow? Should we make the rule of 15 min like normal...if you arn't at the Starbucks by 8:45....we leave.

Oh, and those that don't know what we all look like...we'll be the ones that look like power rangers. :)

I was out on 446, 58, 135 and 45 today. They are still clean for the most part. The farmers are getting into the fields so you will need to be on the look out for mud/dirt on some parts. Traffic in Nashville is horrible as usual.

I had 3 different HD riders tell me and the others to becareful out there, "Those curves sneak up on you" I'm like Duh, thats why I ride here.

Was out today with Joe too. We did almost hit a horse and a wild turkey in the middle of the road:eek: , but other then that allwas pretty good. Starting to see too many weekend warriors; annoys me:butt The HD rider (helmet-less) lived in Nashville so he was all noble.
My FZ1 buddy, Nate, will be joining Sunday.

Ryan and Brian had minor accident. Brian is in the hospital, we are going to go see him now. 05 GSXR 1k at my house, totaled. How was the ride?

argibson
04-10-2005, 12:58 PM
This is Sabian BTW...

They lost a fight with a road cone....:(

I will have details later...Brian is in surgery right now...will find out more in a min.

04-10-2005, 01:32 PM
Oh man, that really is not good to hear. Let us know how they are doing. Anything major wrong the Ryan and Brian? Will they recover ok?

The ride was ok, we didin't do the whole thing because people had to get back. Nice riding though, lots of cruisers out.

I have sore shoulder and hip but thanks for full leathers or it would have been bad. My bike has bad cosmetic damage and my right rearset is trash. I think a paint job, some good bondo work and a few pieces will put it back together for <$1000.

Brian (rocketboi345) has a broken finger and wrist. He had one surgery and is having another one right now. His bike is probably a total, but could fix for <$2000 probably. He will be fine, but need some physical therapy on the wrist. BTW, the ugly ass can is just fine...high side on a right hander on ramp, so he was thrown into the gaurdrail and his bike is just damaged on the right side.

We will post updates here soon. Glad to hear you all had a good day and sorry we missed it. Talk to you soon.
Ryan

UPDATE**** We waited for over an hour, still in surgery. It's officially a broken wrist, and ring finger. He's coming out of surgery here shorty, just to go back into again tonight. We won't get to see him until this evening...and since I am using a computer behind a nurse desk without the hospital knowing...I'm not sticking around. At least they have freecell. :)

Looks like he's gonna be fine.

Cya guys.

How the hell did you guys crash??? Its not like you are a bunch of newbies to motorcycling. Where were you at?

Don't worry about the bikes, that is what insurance is for.....besides, if its totaled, they will make another for you.

argibson
04-10-2005, 07:10 PM
10 years street riding and the occasional track day...and a MOTHER*****ING DOT cone in the middle of the lane around a blind on ramp (that I have been on thousands of times) combined with VERY sandy outside of lane did me in. Brian wasnt prepared to go around me or stop and high sided himself into the gaurdrail.

Not a newbie, but feel like one right now! Custom paint justified now though and maybe even some rearsets. I just hope Brian is back at it soon.

04-10-2005, 08:06 PM
I wouldn't beat yourself up over it since you went down for reason out of your control. Just be glad you are ok for the most part and get back to riding.

The first time I went down was because of a huge oil spot from a car blowing a motor......just happened to be in the middle of a curve. I wasn't screwing around or even speeding but when your tires hit fresh oil, you have no chance. That crash totaled out the ZX7 so I bought a ZX9R.

Sabian
04-10-2005, 09:24 PM
This is what happens Joe....when you ride with posers like Ryan.

Sabian
04-10-2005, 09:27 PM
Ooops...did I say that aloud?

My bad....

Post whore count +2...

Nah...road hassards..just one more reason to stick to the track. lifes a bitch, then you die...and inbetween you make the best of it. Learn from mistakes and become a better rider because of it. That's all you can do.

Sorry to here about the accident. I am glad everyone is going to be ok. I also apologize for not making it for the ride. If you read one of my earlier post I was helping my father-in-law roof a house on Sat in Tere haut (sp). Left Sat morning @5 and didn't get home until 9 at night. I think I am decent shape but man, hanging off of a rope on a steep pitch all day really kicked my a$$. Just couldn't get myself up to go :(
I didn't ride my bike all weekend.

Count me in for next time:yesnod

damn guys. i just got on the computer and thought i would take a look to see how the ride went. what a shock. that sucks.
i went to the ride in lawenceburg, indiana. after being packed in the middle of 300 hardleys, i broke out on my own after the first stop and hit some of the best roads in the state of indiana. it was a blast. got gone with that and kicked back with my uncle to talk over a few beers. i was soooooooooooo hung over sunday i couldn't stand the sound of my bike.
glad the ride went well for you guys, sorry to hear the ride sucked for you other guys. that really blows.
i did talk to my uncle about the chance of getting some good prices on some rooms down in rising sun, indiana. once everyone gets back to riding and can get away for a weekend we can all head over there for a day or two and run some of those roads. they are 100% awesome.

Whats up guys, just wanted to give you guys an update, my finger and wrist is back in place but tomorrow at 9:30 in the morning I have surgery to repair the broken bones in my wrist. They said a good 8 - 12 weeks before everything is healed and after that I might not have full motion of my left wrist. I wanted to thank you all for your support and special thanks to Zach, Ryan, and Slava for keeping me calm and helping me out through the whole thing :thumbup Be safe guys throughout this riding season anything can happen as was proved to me on Sunday.

You either dictated that or it must have taken you forever, so dont feel you have to respond. If there is anything you need help with, dont hesitate to ask 317.418.3818. Feel better, I know how you feel. Crushed my hand playing hockey one time and had multiple pins for 6 weeks. I hope you get 100% back like I did.

No worries mate....we got your back...hell I even have your bike. :) At least until tomorrow...I believe your friend Alan...I think that is his name (he was at the hospital) is gonna call me and I'll bring it up to his house for you. Guess you store it there. Good luck on the surgery in the morning.
