Gawarrior 04-13-2005, 12:49 PM On Friday of the East Coast Convention several of us are heading to the Upper Tellico ORV area to ride dirtbikes. It is about an hour or so from Fontana Village. We will leave out early that morning. This place is one of the coolest places I have been dirtbiking! I have been twice now and only ridden half of it. There are easy trails all the way to very difficult trails. Just a warning, there are areas that are very rocky so if you have a good skidplate make sure you put it on. It is not neccesary but I reccommend it. Here are a couple links of the place, it is popular with the Jeeps and Rock crawlers but is also super fun on a bike. Plus the place is huge so you don't have to worry about it being crowded.

Sorry Ralph, I took it out last weekend for the first time really riding it......................UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!! It really is perfect for the MX track for sure!!! All I can really say is I love it. I have a MX race the end of the month, I can't wait!! It was so much better than my WR426 on the track. Both are good but the yz is better. I rode my buddy's that is pretty much stock, it is a 2002 model. I could tell mine is much stronger and definately more well suited for the track. I will keep the 426 for GNCC's and harescrambles and use the yz on the mx tracks. Dude, thanks again for everything, I love the bike!!! Also, the suspension seems to be really good. I do not really see any reason to upgrade the springs as of yet. If I jumped it correct I had no problems. Even on some really hard landing it help up really good.
4yamahas 04-13-2005, 07:56 PM That is really good to hear , glad its pulling strong . I will pick up another 250 one day , but now its getting close to mountain road sportbike season.:riding

Pete, I can tell you that you will not regret buying a dirtbike. We have so much fun on them. I honestly like it and have as much fun on my dirtbikes as I do with the R1. Plus that Friday is going to be some good fun:yesnod. Let me know if you have any questions about buying one.

vrooomr6 04-24-2005, 07:50 PM I'm looking forward to the trail riding friday too :thumbup.
Been getting better riding the yz125 since I got it. Already have had a few bent levers and now have a dented pipe too LMAO. Crazy riding in wet mud!
I would have never imagined how different it is from street riding. I thought I would be able to just jump on and tear it up like the streetbike.
Man was I wrong - its a whole other 2-wheeled world :lol

Nice shane, you order you Sidi boots today too when you ordered mine?
Larry should like Tellico then:yesnod Actually I have been there twice and the place is so big that we actually rode the same trails the second time and by the time we figured out where we were and where the trails we missed were it was time to go:( So I can't tell you a whole lot about them. I do know that there are a good mix of easy, medium, and difficult trails though. But it is in the mountains so it is pretty much all mountain terrain. There are some fast easy trails i.e. fireroads and such. And there are some that a pretty slow and just climbing trails. It is a popular place with rock crawling vehicles, but it is great for motorcycles too. But the main favorite places for the rock crawlers are not much fun for us, we will stay away from those spots. Unless you have a trials bike:lol So, yes some pretty, actually really cool technical places and a few fast places on the open roads, and I am sure a few jumps here and there.
here are a couple pics, just disreguard the jeep. I pulled these few of a 4x4 website.
Gawarrior 05-31-2005, 08:16 PM Another pic.....we need to make sure we have a camera or two to get some good pics when we go:yesnod

SpidermanSS 06-01-2005, 09:20 PM A turn down an uncharted dirt road leads six young people into a night of pure terror in this horror story. Chris (Desmond Harrington) is driving through West Virginia on his way to a job interview when an auto accident slows highway traffic to a near standstill. Afraid he'll be late, Chris takes a detour down an old dirt road; a distracted Chris doesn't see an SUV stuck in the middle of the road before it's too late, and he plows into the back after his tires suddenly blow. The driver of the SUV, Jessie (Eliza Dushku), was out on a camping trip with four of her friends -- Evan (Kevin Zegers), Francine (Lindy Booth), Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), and Scott (Jeremy Sisto) -- when their tires went out, and as Jessie and Chris compare notes on their accidents, they discover that the road has been sabotaged with barbed wire. With both parties in need of a telephone, Evan and Francine are left to look after the cars while the other four set out to find help. However, Evan and Francine soon discover they've been led into a horrible trap, and as Chris, Jessie, and their friends search for help, they find that they've fallen victim not to local pranksters, but a gang of inbred backwoods killers with a taste for blood. Wrong Turn was produced in part by Stan Winston, a legendary special-effects artist whose work has appeared in such films as Jurassic Park, Aliens, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Nothing really against bubba, he is a great rider but I just don't am not really a fan. He has no humility at such young age....even when Ricky and Chad loose they do it with Class.

Im not a fan of Bubba either but he always dominated no matter which class he is in. I thought Kevin Windham would do a little better. I think Mike Alessi will be the next big thing. But it will be a couple years before he will race bubba.
Gawarrior 06-10-2005, 08:00 AM Yeah, hershell. I admit he is good, I just hope he doesn't dominate like he thinks, and everyone else thinks, he is going to. Alessi is a big mouth too from what I have heard... I like the humble guys that go out and win. Nothing wrong with being flashy but no need to run off at the mouth about it. either way looks like some good racing to come:yesnod
K Dub seems not to have the fire in him like Ricky and chad do. I am surprised he hasn't done as well either though.

When we were doing harescrables I was riding way over my head. I had to win.If I don't go as hard & fast as I can I feel like I let myself & my frends down. Funny I got hurt when I was just playing around.

yeah, it is ironic i guess. I actually did the opposite on the Hare Scrambles. I just was out there haveing fun and if I did good great, if not oh well. Maybe this year I will get a trophy though:lol
But don't try act like you are not fast, you were whipping up on everyone in VET C and leading the ENDURO VET C.:yesnod That is more than riding over your head, it takes some skills.

Oh don't get me wrong I was having fun. Nothing like lining up with 4 of your friends at a enduro & racing with them all day or going wide open with 40 other guys for the first turn in a Hare Scramble. What a rush :scared

:fact for sure. You know after talking to some more guys I am thinking about doing some enduros this year. I wish I had done some with you last year. I didn't realize you could line up with your buddies and ride together all day. That would be really cool! And yeah, the rush of the mad dash to the first turn of a harescramble is awesome:rock You should do a GNCC:yesnod Double what the SETRA races were as far as number of people...
hershell 06-10-2005, 12:18 PM I'll tell you what & this is a big maybe but if Im not able to sell my bike I might go & do a enduro. I have to see if my leg gets better and how things go at work :fact
