Spools are simply for ease of lifting and sturdiness. In my opinion, they provide better stability and a rigid hold on the bike. Nevertheless, both options are great. Spooled or standard. In fact, I believe you can get the attachment to switch it if you change your mind at a later date.

Also if you go to www.kneedraggers.com they have rear stands(either type) for 122 and front stand fork type for 134 and the tree type for 144. It sounds like Mike is giving us a deal on the front stands, but not so much on the rear.

Another good question. Well, I set up this deal to make it quite simple for everybody. The sooner we have 10 stands, the sooner we can get them out to people. All you have to do is simply call Mike @ 606-432-1556. Mention that you are responding in reference to the group buy ad I posted today. Mike oftens gets bombarded by a myriad of info., so please remind him. :lol

I am sure we can get 10 folks to sign up for this great group buy. I am all about Pit Bull. I have heard nothing but the best about these stands. Professionals say that they are the strongest stands on the market.

I already have both the front and rear stands, so I figure that I'll share my experience.

Pit Bull stands are very very sturdy. I've used other makes and they are generally flimsier.

I've used the rear stand in both spooled and non-spooled configurations. My recommendation is to put spools on your bike or get the swingarm sliders that will function as spools. It will be much more secure.

As for the front stand, I recommend getting the one that lifts the bike from the tree. Why? Well, it makes it easier to service the forks and adjusting fork position relative to the triples. If you don't plan on using it in this fashion then I suppose you are better off saving the ~$20 premium that it'll cost ya.

Regardless, the price that ScorpionR1 has listed are pretty good for brand new Pit Bull stands--definitely cheaper than what I paid for mine.

BTW, Go with the Tripple Style Front, much better, more stable, and you can work on your forks.

Also, shipping on these badboys are normally expensive b/c of the size of the boxes they come in. Free Shipping? Get the biggest they have :thumbup

I've been using Pit-Bull stands for well over a year and a half now, I remember ordering them direct from Pit-Bull cuz not too many other retail outfits carried them at that time. Anyway the stands are all they're cracked up to be. They're really strong, very easy to use, I soak both whenever I wash my bike and there's not a hint of rust (*cough* LP *cough*). When I got mine I paid well over 300 bucks for both (I have the reversible rear and the forklift-non triple tree front). So this definitely is a good deal. Do yourselves all a favor and get some spools, either pit bull or any other type, it's much easier hoisting the bike by yourself and you know you're "locked in" and won't have any probs. It's easy to scoot the bike back and forth into position when it's on both stands as well. I only wish I got the triple tree kind front stand but I believe there's a converter attachment that I can still get to be able to raise it by the triple. Anyway this is a great price, can't beat the free ship, and an all around great value, I just wish this was around when I got mine. Good luck:thumbup

Guys, I've bought from mike and Ive bought from cycle mall and I had great service in both places. I would just like to point out the rear stand is not that great of a deal. You can get it through through cycle mall for 129.00 with shipping included. I reiterate, I had no problems with Mike and I will order from him again but his starting prices are higher than cycle mall on most things. I also had more trouble getting Mike on the phone than Frank. Just my .02.

Mike listened to my dilemma patiently, resolved the issue immediately, and made me a happy camper. :thumbup

If you refer back to my original post, the Pit Bull stand can be order with our with out spool assembly. It is not mandatory to use it with spools. Regardless, the price for the rear stand is $118.

Second, if you calculate 6% sales tax on $119, it equals to roughly $7, which means that the stand comes to $126.

Nevertheless, McCoy Motorports has maintained a reputable stance in the aftermarket retailer industry. I do not why you would come on a group buy post and try to act like a big shot by announcing some unknown company. Why didn't you simply make your own thread? :yesnod

You are entitled to your opinion as well as others. The individuals who have ordered from McCoy have the option to declien tehir order and go to CHesterfield or whoever else you recommend.

I am a little confused. I am not loyal to anyone. I like getting service anywhere I go. If I buy from so and so, I don't want anybody to kiss my ass or anything like that. Just run my card through and send me my stuff. If I have a problem with your product, just fix it. I am sure that both cyclemall and Mike offer great service and prices. I looked at Mike's prices and I looked at Cyclemall's prices. It seems that cyclemall is at the same price and you don't need a group buy. I think you are one of the people that makes this forum as great as it is. I respect your opinions. Scorpion, but why did you never mention to Mike that if he was going to put a group deal that requiered 10 people, then please make sure that it was the cheapest you would be able to find it. Like Madcuban tried to sell his stainless steel brake lines on a group deal of 6 or more and he was $2 above full retail and $35 more expensive than everybody else. I told him off on his same thread and guess what, he deleted it. Now that is chicken shit. I just want to make sure that if people are going to get inot a group deal, then please do some research. I don't think it's cool to go into someone else thread and offer a better price, just start another thread. I think competition is good because it's to our benefit, but there are ways to conduct it. How'd you manage to do that? Did they come w/ the bike you bought? Ebay? Friend's neighbor? That's a great price even for used so there's gotta be a catch, right? Yeah I bought 'em, about 2 years ago and I paid somewhere close to or just over $300 for the SS rear and the forklift front. Man, you and this forum could've helped me out alot back then. So if I sound a bit bitter sometimes, you know why...:yesnod LOL, seriously though I think this is a great deal personally, hell even if it saves someone $20 it's still worth it IMO. You found a way to get a good product to these guys for a little less then everywhere else, so for that, kudos to you my friend! I picked them up when I was in the service. A buddy of mine was going overseas and he just wanted to get rid of them. He told me to make an offer, I said $60 and they were mine. Ya I got mine today too and it works great. I am a little bummed though its got minor damage. Someone dropped it on the top of the handle (upside down) and busted through both the plastic cap and the red cover and buggered up the metal. And it didn't happen during shipping because the box wasn't damaged. I know its just a bike stand but Damn...Its nice to get brand new stuff in brand new condition. :(

Mike is willing to replace the handle for you. Mike did not take the stands out of the bubble wrap. He took the stands out and placed them in individual boxes.
