DO NOT ORDER FROM MAW

here is a cut and paste from one of my previous posts: ***************************************** others may have different experience, but Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse STOLE about $75 from me. they processed an unauthorized order to my credit card. i called, they said they'd take everything back and full refund with no problems. i asked them to issue a call tag, they said ship the stuff and we'll refund your shipping. i sent it back and they stiffed me. charged me shipping and 10% re-stocking fee. plus the return shipping that they SAID they would pay me back for. total = ~$75. they FLAT OUT LIED TO ME over the phone. i called my credit card company and they "looked into it". said they couldn't do anything because MAW partially refunded me for the products and it looked like i would have to resolve this directly with them. i called MAW back and they basically said tuff luck. Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse is a bunch of lying theives. Now you got me all worked up and i'm gonna make this a "beware" thread on its own... ******************************************

i used to often check MAW's overstock page. i saw some items on there that i'd be interested in and they were listed for $0.00 i figured, what the heck, i'll ask for them and find out the true overstock price. if it's a decent deal, i'll buy the stuff. this was via their website. MAW charged me FULL price plus shipping without ever contacting me with the prices or even receiving the true order. i called and told them what happened. they told me to refuse the shippment when it came and i'd get a FULL refund. the shippment was left at my door and delivered. i called again and asked them to issue a call tag. they said to ship the stuff back with my own money and they would FULLY refund me. i sent the stuff back and all they gave me was 90% of the purchase price minus shipping. for MAW's mistake, i was charged: ~$30 shipping product to me ~$30 shipping product back to them ~$15 re-stocking fee and this was despite the fact that they were telling me "full refund" over the phone the whole time. i never even ordered the stuff! and they told me every step of the way that i was going to get a full refund!

I ordered a tire from them once, and it took about 2 weeks to arrive. I know guys that have had good experiences with them, but I dont order from them anymore. I usually get my tires from Chaparral and I have ordered other stuff from Frank at Cyclemall. Thanks for the post and I hope others will give their input.

extreme... sorry to hear that bro....:no i had the same type of experience with texas fairing and refuse to deal with them in the future. it is very sad that companies out there are extremely unprofessional, but i guess thats life for ya. well, after that point, i gave McCoy Motorsports a chance. www.tobefast.com i now rely on Mike for all my bike needs. he gives me honest advice, great prices, and pristine service. in fact, i called to ask him about tires today. guess what he said? he highly recommended that i go to Chapparal !!! Mike said that they had the best prices on tires. have you ever heard of another company ever doing that? wow. this guy is a sweetheart........:lol Take care. Ride safe.

Just curious, I have ordered from them in the past and really don't have an opinion about them except they are slow, but how did you get an unauthorized shipment from them? Don't you have to give them your CC number and exp date? Was it because you had ordered from them before? BTW, that story sucks ass.....best of luck on your money.

They suck!!!! I would boycott them just for their shitty website. Get this... to get an order status, you go this page and (I shit you not) they want to search for your zip code, then you get to see your order along with all other orders in your state - names, products, zip codes. Basically they expose private info (you have a bike, what kind, your name, zip etc.) LAMO! :iamwithst Jeezus, all they have to do is hire some kid, buy MS FrontPage and they would have ten times better site. Also, the restocking fee blows, and they overcharge for shipping. :butt If you use them, it's becasue you haven't shopped at ... www.parts411.com (http://www.parts411.com) :thumbup www.tobefast.com (http://www.tobefast.com) :thumbup

I ordered a pair of alpinestars gloves from them which they claimed they had in stock when I CALLED. So I placed the order and I received the wrong gloves. When I called back to rectify the order they told me that those gloves were on back order for another month?!!? So I sent them back asking for a full refund since this was not what I ordered and not what they told me. Thankfully I got a refund with no restocking fee. But like 02Blue says they post all of your ordering info online with all of their other orders. I saw all the orders of my neighbors and their addresses. If I was a dishonest man I could have gone to their homes to "intercept" their deliveries. That is not a smart business practice at all! So buyers beware that your info does get displayed.

I noticed that whenever I ordered over the phone, my order never showed up on the status page.....FYI. MAW fees are high because they charge shipping, insurance fee (which is 4%) and a handling fee (which is of unspecified cost but $4.95 minimum). They fuk you in the drive thru!

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I just wanted to add another vote against MAW. I ordered a pair of Michelin Pilot Sports from them 8 business days ago, but haven't received them yet. I called today to find out when I should be receiving them, and they're scheduled for delivery this coming Friday. The kicker is that the salesperson talked me out of expedited shipping, because it was going to take five days to receive the front tire, anyway, but normal shipping should get it to me in 5-7 days. Now I'm stuck not being able to ride, and my bike will be likely be illegal (no inspection sticker) when I go to get the tires mounted and when I finally get to go for the inspection. My fault for waiting so long, but I didn't think it'd take almost 2 1/2 weeks for them to deliver two tires. Never again...

I have used them several times in the past without issues. They usually take longer than I would prefer to ship, but they make up for it on the price. They even called once when I placed an order for something that didn't match the bike I checked. In this particular case I was right and just made an error, but if I was wrong it was nice of them to call and double check. Sorry to hear they bent you over. I too do not like the fact that your ordering information and address are up for everyone to view.

i will never use these assholes. i orderd leathers, called to see availability, they said they had them. 2 weeks later, i call to see why nothing has arived, and they stated that they sold them to someone else, and they wouldnt get anymore for 3 months so they were just going to wait. they didnt even bother to call and tell me this. they also charged my card the day i placed my order, and wanted my 900 bucks while i waited for 3 months with nothing. thats just stupid and agenst the law. i will never do buisness with them ever, and to top it off they were rude beyone belife on the phone, just becusae i wanted my money back, they claimed that i would pay a restocking fee. i go so pissed. restocking of what, the damn thing was still backordered. anyways, i recoment you stay away.

I had a bad experience with them many years ago and have never given them my business again. I'd rather pay more at my local dealer than give them another chance. FYI: Shane at www.tobefast.com is a pleasure to deal with. :thumbup

Yep... slow as heck. Ordered boots and gloves from MAW.... too almost 3 weeks to arrive. Ordered from tonker.com the same day... was at my door 2 days later AND at a less costly shipping charge.

Funny, in the past I have ordered a bunch of stuff from them and have had nothing but good things to say about them. I ordered a AGV Suit from them a few years back, they sent the wrong size, payed for the return shipping and sent the new one. I also ordered boots that were the wrong size for me (my fault) same deal, took them back no fee's, etc. It seems that their customer service has gone down hill in the past years. Thanks, Ray

FYI: Shane at www.tobefast.com is a pleasure to deal with. :thumbup [/B] Yup, my one experience with them was great. NewEnough.com and Kneedraggers have also done a great job, as far as I'm concerned.
