Corbin or other aftermarket seats?

I rode 250 miles one day on my '05 and my butt was killing me. Then I did the mod described in the other part of this forum (recutting the foam and adding some padding in the front) and rode 225 miles. Better, but not great. I'm planning several 1,100 mile days this summer and want to fix this sore butt problem. Does anyone have experience with the Corbin seat or other aftermarket seats? BTW - I'm 5'10" 175lbs. thx.

I'm 5'10" 165lbs and put some 04 clip-ons on my 02 R1 to raise the bars slightly but mostly to keep the Throttlemeister barends I had . Better comfort and makes longer rides easier. I have done 6 striaght hours and wasn't really sore after. Getting use to the bike helps as you condition yourself to the bike. Good Luck

It would be nice if there was a custom seat. Especially if it was a two up seat for longer trips with a rider. I know that's not what the bike is "for" but I want what I want.

I had Corbin make a custom set of seats for me.. (front and rear). Wife loves it and it works great for me :) Chip gadgettr1@verizon.net

I have a corbin, bought it off another forum member. It's not plush really but I found it to be more comfortable. That and the earache bar-ends are a nice combo.

I've got my new Corbin on now and I agree with jjminch - not plush, but (a lot) more comfortable. What are earache bar-ends?

earache bar ends are these solid billet ones that replace your flimsy stock ones. They're pretty heavy. Because of that they eliminate A LOT of the vibration from the bike and the road you feel on the bars. Best 60 bucks I ever spent, and they look nice. They're longer, so they can protect your bike like a frame slider also. http://www.ericblattert.com/
