With much regret I will not be attending the rally this year. The last few weeks in the Vman family have been extremly difficult. A few weeks ago, I was getting prepared to attend the R6MN ride and here is a little cut and paste from a post I made on 5-9-05 " This have been one of the worst weekends in my 33 years on this planet. On Wednesday night at church, me and my Brother in law, were talking about the up coming R6MN trip. Mike(BIL), a advid motorcyclist and ex road racer was talking how he wanted to get another sportbike, possibly even a R6. Thursday Mike had knee surgury to repair some damage to the joint. Opperation went fine, home on Thursday night. He was actually working in the garage on his V Rod by Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning, around 8 am his family, Cindy wife of 17 years and son Austin 12, celebrated Mothers Day together before church. Mike walked up the stairs and collapsed, then fell back down the stairs. He heart stopped and was rushed to the ER. By 11:20, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. A blood clot had formed and made its way to his heart. Not only was he family, he was and always will be my friend and riding buddy. He nurtured me into this great sport and help me overcome many fears I had about riding fast in the twisties. In Mike's 37 years of life, I knew him for 16 of those. I think anyone that every met him could see his passion for riding and the love for ALL motorcycles. I said that to try and explain a little of what I as well as my family are going through and why I will probally miss this trip. I LOVE to ride but my family needs me here. I hope you guys understand. Godspeed Mike I miss you pal. I know I will see you again." Cindy, Mike's widow, is the same one who broke her back last year in a 4-wheeler accident. Some of you guys may remember that from last September I think. To say that they have had a rough year is an understatement. There will be a Memorial ride for Cinday and her son, Austin on June 18th. I hate to miss the rally, but my family is extremly important. I will be sending Chad(Gawarrior) a set of tires for the givaway on Saturday night from the store. I have a 2 br cabin reserved and I will be cancelling it later this week. If anyone needs a cabin, let me know and I can call Fontanna and chage the reservation. You guys ride safe and have fun. We're gonna miss ya Kevin. You have your priorities correct. Family always comes first. We'll catch ya at the gap at next years convention.... or even later this year if we can get together. Kevin

I will be there several times this year. Being less that 1.5 hrs away is nice. Let me know when you will be in the area and I will see what my plans hold.
