As of late I have been seriously considering an R6 as my next bike instead of an R1. I have riden nothing but liter bike for 5 years now and loved my '03. Everyone I have talked to agrees that a 600 makes a better first track bike. I don't have the skill/expirience to properly wield the power of a liter bike through the corners. I am thinking that a 600 will be a great help in developing my riding skill. Also I cannot afford a track bike and a street bike at the same time. So an R6 would make a great go between and over time I can slowly turn it into a track bike and when its paid off I will turn it into a full timer and buy a liter bike again for the street. I know I will miss the brutal acceleration but I think she'll have enough to satisify. What do you guys think? Am I ****ing nuts or is it a good idea to improve my riding skill? Thanks Y'all!:dunno :hellobye
R6/R1 whatever you want to ride... You can never say its a bad idea to improve your riding skills.
Just think if you would regret getting a Six when you have been wanting a ONE..
But I would defenitely like to have the money to have my ONE and a SIX as a track bike, but I don't.. :(

Should of been locked up for the way I rode my '03. Lesson learned. Now that I've gotten my squidish ways out of the way, I'm serious about inproving my technique. I'm no noob but I have a long way to go. I think if I can get over the acceleration I would be very happy with a 6.

I think that's smart of you to think of your skill first before you think of your desire for the power at your wrist. With the way these latest round of bikes has gone you can't really go wrong even with a 600. If I were to do it all over again I would have gotten an R6 instead of an R1. I can't really use the R1 to it's full potential yet anyways.
