My R1 needs new tires. Which do you guys prefer for hard street riding and maybe 3-4 trackdays? I have d207 on there now, but maybe rennsports better? I'm in California and theres no rain, and smooth twisty turns. Let me know what you use and how you like them, and if you would have gotten something different in hindsite. Thanks.

I'd so go for a harder type of tire since you hardly ever use the edges of the tire.

If you warm the tires up good before track day it will work there too.

hard tires as we know don't grip too well. But they last much longer.

I switched to Pirelli Super Corsa's (basically the same as Renn's) a few months ago from D207's and they are excellent! I honestly wouldn't have any other tire on my bike now. I went through the whole 180/190 size thing in my mind, decided to stay with the 190, bought the Pirellis and am in love with 'em. The ability to turn crisply and quickly is like night and day. Based on how you described your riding conditions, I'd say they'd be an excellent choice. If you were riding in the wet I think it'd be different since the tread grooves don't go anywhere near the edges of the tires. At 3/4 to full lean you're, for all intents and purposes, on slicks. I only ride in the dry so that's why I made the choice that I did and haven't regretted it a moment. The other nice thing about these tires is that they heat up faster than any other in the market. Can you tell I love 'em? Anyway, that's my input. Good Luck
