I'm looking for a new bike at the moment, I'm considering either a Black/Yellow '00 929, or a new '02 Silver/Black R1.

Any idea where I can get the best price on this bike? Used 929s go for about $6500, very nice. I'm getting quotes of $12,000-$12,800 out the door from local Yamaha dealers, but if I can find one for about $10,000 out the door (and delievered in California), I'll go for it.

Whose the best? I don't mind waiting a month or two if needed.

Try and shop in Canada and have it shipped to you... My dealer sold it to me at 12 500 CAN$ + taxes... that's 2000 CAN$ under the retail! 12 500 CAN$ means about 7900$ US. I guess such a low price would compensate for the shipping! That's IF you can find one, most dealers have none left!!!

Their price is $9,299 OUT THE DOOR for any 2002 R1 - color is up to you (yes, even silver). They are in Mississippi.

I am 1st in line to get my 2002 silver R1 from them.

I believe you can have a bike shipped for $500 or so - so you could get it for $9,800 to your door - if you're willing to wait a little.
