I finally found some airplane stripper in Vermont. There was no place around here that sold any, well any place that I contacted. Anyway...
If the stripper is left on too long will it effect the metal in the wheels at all?
That stuff kicks ass, I just opened the can next to the wheel and the paint started flaking off! :rock

What do you use to apply the stripper to the wheels? Is more better?
Thanks

I was hoping that you found a stripper on an airplane. Your title was misleading. Thought we were going to see some :boobies

I get cheap paint brushes and smear it on. Make sure you wash your hands pretty quick if you get it on them. Tape off the areas you dont want stripped. Let it sit about 10-15 minutes and then use water to stop the stripping process. You might have to do it a couple of times but it does work:thumbup

Got it finally, I think that it was coming off hard cause it was about 5 degrees in there with the garage doors open! Anyway, I ended up doing the complete wheel, what a pain in the :butt it is to get the paint off the textured part in the middle. I just ended up using some scotch-brite scrubbing sponges after applying the stripper. Now I just need to finish the rear arm.

nah, took your advise and removed them, I also put on the new 520 conversion kit on too. It wasn't that bad to remove them it would have been pain in the :butt to do with them on.
Thanks fo the advice.

does that stripper hurt the tires, and how did you get the paint off the soke part of the wheel seeing there a lot of stuff in the way?

I took the wheels right off. That is the easiest way to get all the paint off. For the middle just use a scotch-brite pad or something, nothing to extreme though unless you want to get rid of the satin look.

It will not hurt the tires unless you leave it on for 3 days or something like that..........you get the point:D

That's a good question, never tried to remove powder coating. Powder coating is baked on so it is a little harder to remove. I will have to look into that and get back to you:D
