"Tankslapper" Tank Protector

On the recommendation of a CBR600RR-riding friend, I just got a set of these electro-static vinyl tank protector sheets. They're designed to be completely transparent and as invisible to the naked eye as possible. Tankslapper Tank Protectors (http://www.thetankslapper.biz/online-store/scstore/main.htm) It's a little tricky to get them on without getting dust trapped underneath, however they are completely removable, so if you need a few attempts you can do that. The instructions they provide on the website are very good. Visibility - I am blown away by how invisible these things are when on the bike. The photo they have on the web page linked above is not photoshopped - it really is that hard to see. Protection - the jury's out on this, as I just installed them. My buddy says they work great over time, and after seeing them myself and installing them, I have every confidence he's right. For the price of $15.95 + $3.95 shipping, these things are dirt cheap for what you get, too. Feel free to post any questions here.

Mine is a 2004 silver, friend's bike is a black CR600RR. I doubt if it matters what color the bike is - the protector is completely transparent.

I have one too, I actually only use the side protectors because I have a tank pad in the center. The only place you can see mine is at the top edge Definately a good buy

I had a tank slapper on my silver '03 for over two years and liked it so much that I had one waiting for my '06 when I brought it home. Bill

I just put the tankslapper on my '05 red. After only 1300 miles or so the back of my tank was already showing wear. Once I took care of that and waxed it up, the slapper went on fairly easily. It would certainly go on easier on a warmer day (about 58 degrees in the garage). I've used these on previous bikes and can speak highly of their products.

Anyone use their total protection stuff? I've been thinking about buying it for my bike to protect against rock chips.

I'm gonna do the sticker city with full 3m film. They are a site sponser and the 3m is thicker, extra work installing but should be worth it.
