White Water Rafting 2006

We did the Occoee river for 2005 and we will be doing the upper and middle this year. It will be on a Saturday while the Gap is busy and patroled. We will probaly take the very relaxed route there and back. We will probably leave out around 730 or 8:00 in the morning. The cost will be in the range of 80 to 90 dollars. The group from last year had a great time. the cut off this year will be a month and half before the trip so that makesIM GOIGN TO HAVE TO DO THE SAME AS CHAD. I NEED TO KNOW WHO IS GOING BY MAY 10 THE MONEY WILL BE MAY 15 NO EXCEPTIONS. I WILL HAVE COST AROUND 45 FOR THE MIDDLE AND 90 OR SO FOR TEH FULL RIVER. I might be interested if I can get to the GAP. I want to go and have never been. If I go rafting is a definate possibility if your willing to accept a new B.

If I'm still in the east come summer time, you can count me in on this. I'll keep you posted.

Can't wait for next year. The rafting was WAAAY better than dealing with weekend cops and lane crossers at the gap. Perfect thing to do on a saturday

I think Saturday is still the best day, when the gap will be by far the most crowded.

Yea, definitely Saturday, and I would say do the whole deal.

If we do the whole thing can we take the fast way there? I was pretty tired at the end of the day.:( Getting old.

I am actually going to the Gap on my way to a the River. Not going to the river on my way to the Gap....... We have our own raft and go there every summer. For those of you who havent done the Ocoee yet....... You will have a blast!!!!!!

No matter what we have to at least do the upper section... as the trip down last year was good but it wasn't "OH MY FARKING GOSH" good. You know? Money is no object.... :fact and no... I won't pay for you! :no

hey southern i will be paying for two people on wednesday and i wanted to know if it is possible to pay when you gget there.....i might have two more people coming down with me but they are waiting to see if their vacation will be approuved....if they come they want to go rafting....thanks. for now philly_03 +1= 156$

He reminded me of "Cheech" from Cheech and Chong. :epimp I'll just say the water is freezing cold. The first time our boat got flipped and I hit that water I couldn't breathe it was so cold, but by the end of the trip I was having a blast in the water. Like Bill said take some shoes that will stay on your feet. I don't see how we found his shoe after he lost it last year. You will have a life jacket and foam helment on. If you can at least Dog Paddle your good to go. :fact

go to walmart and get water socks. they are a type of aqua shoe great grip and only ten bucks.

you can also buy rafting shoes at the outfitters stores where i bought mine. Great to wash cars in and lounge in. Wouldn't recommend you wear them out in public, they make you look like a river hippee. I hate hippees lol

I thought the water was a nice temperature. It wasn't "freezing cold". My local river is lucky to get up to 60 degrees... so maybe I'm just use to it. :lol I think Dwights boat is full already.
