Decent bike shops in NYC???

Can anyone help? I live in the UK where we get ripped off on quite a lot of things (paying 9000 GBP for an R1 and 800 GBP for akrapovic slip ons being only two of them...at 1.8 covnersion rate that's alot of $$$). Anyway, I'm planning to visit NYC near christmas time and while I was over, wanted to buy myself a nice present...some akrapovic slip-ons and a USB PCIII for my '04 R1. Does anybody know of any decent bike stores that deal with aftermarket mods in the New York area??? I'll probably be staying in Manhattan doing the whole tourist thing but surely there must be loads of bike stores near there?? Before anyone asks, I've bought stuff by mail order before (McCoys's are excellent and i'd consider them again) but when you send new items to the UK you have to pay customs tax and it ends up being just as expensive.
