BristoG50 02-08-2002, 02:25 PM What's up everyone, this is my first post here at the R1 Message Net. I just wanted to say what's up and see what you guys thought about something...
Us R6 folk are trying to arrange a big meeting for bike week. I read that the R1 group is planning to come down too. I live in Daytona Beach :boobies and I figured it would be awesome to get a big ride together of Yams. I'd like to know what you guys thing, if you are interested, and when you'll be here. I have been scouting out some good places to ride, and I found some really good rides around. I actually found one that is actually quite windy and hilly (actually it is AWESOME for Florida) but it is about a 3 hour ride. It goes through some great country too, cows and all (reminds me of up north actually).
Please let me know what you guys think, and if you'd be interested, and I can try to get something together, or just give some advice if needed.
My e-mail is: BristoG50@hotmail.com
Let me know, and keep the rubber side down.
P.S. Sorry if you see this on another part in the forum, I just wanna get the word out.
Solidus 02-09-2002, 10:58 AM Three hours R1 time from Daytona is Miami (on a flat). Or Georgia (with light traffic........serious). I'm in Orlando where you talking about? Nova rd? I think I might be interested in a wee bit of training ride.

How far is Daytona from Orlando? 1 hr. ride?
We'll be down in daytona for bike week, but we will be staying in Orlando.
Cheers,
BristoG50 02-09-2002, 04:33 PM Orlando is only an hour away from Daytona Beach, just a straight shot up 4.
Solidus, as for the good rides, Nova is good, but I haven't scouted super far out. Also, I have heard of this place they call "the loop" that is just a little north, but I am not sure where it is yet (but, I'll find out fo sho). The ride I was talking about is actually a little North of Orlando. The road is highway 42 that goes from Ocala to DeLand basically. A little bit east of Ocala, it starts gettin real hilly and curvy. It is pure country with cows and shit. Thought I was back in Ohio for a bit. 40 into Ocala is also scenic, albiet not very curvy.
Anymore questions, e-mail me or IM me at BristoG50

Solidus 02-16-2002, 11:34 AM The loop you guys are talking about is the backside of Disney. I'm not at that level yet. But my peeps ride it all the time. It is supposedly the bomb on a bike. Nothing but asphalt and orange trees. Very little police activities too. I can find out the exact spec if you want me to and scout it too.
Solidus 02-18-2002, 01:07 PM The loop is the back side of Disney. It takes about 25-30 minutes to ride it briskly and that is if you have some degree of skill. Also it's safer to ride it at night (late) due to traffic. ( 90% tourist and lost.) Thats it.
321 cya 02-26-2002, 05:19 PM Whos all is going to be here for bike week,, March 1st,2nd,3rd. I 'll be there the whole weeken and would like to have somebody show me the "LOOP"
Would make a good group ride

rabidsquirrel 12-12-2002, 06:23 AM I'm entertaining the idea of attending. I don't know how feasible it will be for me to go. I would like to have a hotel reservation or place to stay locked in first. If anyone has extra space in their hotel room or rental, I would definitely contribute money towards any expenses. :crash
DogBoneR1 12-17-2002, 06:54 PM I'm in with most of my bike club "Seductive Cycles". I think we're going to Camp at Daytona Beach Camp ground. Bikeweek should be a really good time. I cant wait.
