I have an 04 r6 that I am in the process of setting up for the track and have been trying to do some research into the actual tuning process. First off I was going to do a baseline so I can get an idea where she stands. I already have the mods(haven't installed anything yet):
full graves, velocity stacks, air filter, slide stops, pc3, as well as a couple other minor things.
I really wanted to do the tuning myself but have a limited knowlegde of the process. I'm familiar with pc3, I've installed dozens of them and understand how they work but don't have any in depth experience custom tuning them. I'm pretty quick on the learning curve so that won't be a problem. I've spoken to several different people and everyone always has something different to say. What I wanted to do was install a wide band commander from dynojet and tune it based on that info. I already have the wbc. I understand that optimum A/F ratio does not equal power but is there an A/F ratio where that does exist?

Is there any one out there who thoroughly understands fuel injection tuning and could lend a little advice?
TIA

The optimum A/F ratio for power is about 12.6-1. Do not try to tune the bike with the wbc alone. The wbc is for fine tuning on the track. The best way to tune your bike is to go to a good tuner with a dyno and tune the bike on the dyno. This will be responsible for about 90-95 % of the tuning. The las bit is for 5the wbc on the track.
