We rode to Pueblo (PMI) on Sun......they are resurfacing the track as we speak......the track is kinda ghetto.....I will email you when our group rents out the track again.......I am still breaking in my bike which is currently @ 850 miles.....I will be ready to rock in a few more riding days (1000 miles)!!! hey guys i as just wondering what the requirments are for you track days?? I'm assuming you can't just run a stock bike. Are you required to draing the antifreeze and use distilled water and remove signals and stuff like that? Don't do any track stuff up here just ride the twisties in the mountains :cool:

Our plan is to go West for a while,then North to Canada,West again to Washington,South to northern Cali,East to Nevada and back into Colorado Springs. Load up and head back East to SC. This week we might go through Independance Pass. I don't know where that's at but one of the dude's in the group does. He's kinda slow so it kinda sucks trailing him - but 'm sure we'll have fun. We have grown our ranks from 6 to close to 25 guys so far. Sometimes it's a hassle trying to organize these guys and the cops allways give us shit but we still have a good time. Till next time....

I don't know about this coming weekend but last yesterday I went with 9 other riders to Winter Park, Granby, through Rocky Mtn. National Park, out Estes Park and back into Denver. It was a hell of a ride! :rock

I LOVE Estes Park!! Great Ride, lots-o-scenery from what I've been told, we were going to fast through the corners to notice.;)

We went to PMI ( Pueblo Motorsports Inc. ) on Friday and were busted by the Cops for something we didn't do. They said that they were following us for over 12 miles and said we were speeding and doing Illegal lane changes and doing wheelies :bs . However, they have no witness's that signed any complaints and if there was an officer behind us during those 12 miles, isn't it their responsibility to protect us from ourselves if we were doing all those things. Shouldn't they have stopped us 12 miles ago? Something smells here, I think that they just hate Sport bikers. The Officer that instigated the Stop was out of control, he jumped out of his cruiser and started yelling at us ( after almost hitting one of our group ) to dismount and " Shut up! ", this guy had a terrible attitude and a piss poor disposition from the get go. We all respect the LAW and what it stands for, but this guy was outta control ( You'd think that one of us just killed his dog or something ). No reason for him to be such an asshole especially since we were all obeying his orders.

The Uniform demands respect but the man wearing it still needs to earn it. All of the local Pueblo Cops were really cool. To bad that all it takes is one Jackass like that guy to ruin it for all of them. Most of the sport bike guys I have spoken with about this have all decided to run from now on if they're going to be given 8 Pt. tickets for doing nothing. Although most of us will always pull over, how is this fair to us. we obey the law and get punished for it while those that caused the Stop are long gone.

Be careful when passing through Pueblo. If you live in Pueblo, I feel for ya guys. ( stepping off my pedestal ).

We'll be spending some time up in the mountains for awhile or maybe go out east for awhile. What're your opinions on this?

The grounds used to be off of 3rd and Kalamath, but since the accident last month they moved it. Last Friday it was off of I-70 and Chambers, there were a lot of bikes from what I hear. If you hang out down on Larimer you can usually find where they are going to be at. I'll probably be out cruising and taking it easy tonight. I'm riding 400+ miles tomorrow. Let me know if you guys want to meet up. If so, e-mail me and we can go from there. I've got stuff to do at home but I should be ready to ride around 8:30 or 9:00pm.

I am in major need of help......I am needing insurance for my bike and cannot find anything cheaper than $2500 for the year. If any of you have any insurance company that you can reccomend to me I would appreciate it. If I cannot I will have to sell the baby.......PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!:( :( :(

I have State Farm and it's fawking inexpensive!!
However...I am told that they generally don't just insure riders out of the blue. You need to have their insurance to begin with I hear. I've got their insurance on my car.

The guy I bought my R1 from said Country companies was cheap for full coverage. I only carry liability with progressive so I dont have personal experience with Country. But he claims they were the lowest. State Farm requires you to insure your car also, but they generally are inexpensive.

I have State Farm and pay just over $600 a year with one ticket. I understand that if you don't have State Farm prior to insuring your bike, they won't insure you. You have to be an existing policy holder to get State Farm motorcycle insurance.

I have State Farm and my Ins. is only 200.00 a year! But I only have a 600cc! I have looked in to the 750cc and it would only go up 50.00 more a year! From my understanding State Farm is one of the cheapest you will fine!

BTW: State Farm is going to be $90 p/month but I have to transfer my Jeep over and will go up $25 p/m from Farmers. so basically it will be $115 p/m for insurance.

Nope, no one wrecked - one dude got pinched by State Patrol doing a wheelie up the onramp to I-25 after leaving the Park Meadows mall. We were s'posed to wait for him at the Castle Rock exit but I fell behind riding with the gal and we kinda lost them - not sure if they turned off or just kept going. We got gas in Monument and came home, stated to get dark and all.

Sunday rides set up - we meet Saturday and Sunday at the Sonic on South Academy between noon and 1:00 ( Don't be late or you get left behind ). Try to think of some place that you think would be fun to ride to since no one ever has any ideas where to go. Do you have to have anything special done to your bike i.e safetywire, catchpan ect? Also what gear do you need?

None needed for this track. Its a cart racing track and they dont have restrictions only a waiver in case of crash or injury.

Traditional gear is recomended but not required. U can call if I want more details.

My bike has mods but nothing specific for track prep. Pilots, sliders, full leathers. Ready to rock!!! :rock

Missed out big time!! Day went off great. We decided to go to Pueblo ( yeah, I know, big whoop - but wait, it gets better ). We take off down I-25, most spread out so as not to attract too much attention. I sat in the back and did 2nd gear wheelies ( they looked sweet if I do say so myself ;) ).

We get to Pueblo and head to the park. We meet the Pueblo dudes ( Cool guys ) and they take the group for a ride around their circuit ( not everybody went ). Then they come back and get the rest of us and we went out to their Favorite Stunting ground.

On the way out, this dude on a Ka-tuna isn't paying attention in a corner ( looked back I think ) and drove off the rode into a 6 foot deep ditch and came up the other side into oncoming traffic. Just barely missed the cars coming the other way. Then this dumbass drives back down into the ditch to get back to the other side of the road. I almost had a heart attack for him. Then we left to go home, a few of the Pueblo guys ended up stopping where we did to get gas. One dude had this sweet looking chick on the back ( turns out that she's a stripper ;) ). When they left, the gal flashed us - We got to see some really nice Boobies!!!:boobies :boobies :boobies

Well, then we headed back down I-25, it was already around 6:30 PM when we were about to pass PPIR and aLIEn says that he swears that he saw cop lights so we turned off to go down Hanover ( Backroad to springs ). The Dude that wrecked down in Pueblo was in the lead and as we came over this hill ( Picture this in your mind ), a wild turkey ( Swear to god ) flew up out of a ditch and hit him dead in the shoulder!! Dude was in control so there were no problems but there were feathers everywhere!! Funniest Goddamn thing ever!! :lol :lol

Any ways, we stop to check it out and some hick in a dooley stops to check it out too. He says that he's gonna take it to a vet cause it was a little dazed and may have had a broken leg - but we all knew that he was gonna take it home for sandwiches:yesnod

Then we all just went home. What a great day, can't wait to see what happens next week. :yesnod

I rode like a squid for the first time this year on saturday( nothin but shades and gloves) and paid for it. Got burnt to shit on my face and arms. goes to show....I won't be doing that again for a while.

So, since I gotcha here, let me tell you what you missed.

Saturday: Decided to take a ride through Deckers. We finally left Sonic at around 2:30 PM ( After waiting all day for aLIEn
:yesnod ). We were about 14 guys strong ( 1 newbie * )when we hit the twisties just before Deckers. I'm up front with a few others and all of a sudden the lead bike starts telling us to slow down and turn back. We thought he saw a cop or something so we headed back after waiting for about 10 minutes for the rest of the group to show up. We head back and come across an Emergency vehicle stopped in the roadway. About 70 feet down a revine we see a bright yellow CBR F4i all wadded up on the rocks. Care to take a guess as to who's bike it was ( * ). Any ways, story goes like this; Guy goes into the corner too hot ( riding above his means ) and gets skered ( How aLIEn would say ) and lets off the gas ( 1st no no :no ). Then his bike stands up on him and he's heading straight for the cliff so he grabs a handful of FRONT brake ( 2nd no no :no ) and tucks the front end. The bike wash's and he's down, bike spins on the foot peg, does a 360 and launches off the cliff:( . Hate to become a gear nazi but all he's wearing are BDU's ( military fatigues ), he's OK and only scratched his knee but it could have been much worse. Any way's after they tractor his bike to a farm house, it was already around 5:00, we just headed home - what a shitty day!!

Sunday:
This made up for Saturday, although it started off the same way ( we didn't leave until around 3:00 again ). We took a ride through the twisties up by Bishops Castle. I snapped off a few pics of the guys coming through 1 of the ' S ' turns ( too bad my camera sucks major Donkey dick and they came out like crap). Either way, it was great fun:yesnod :yesnod

Can't wait til next weekend and then the next one after that is AMA Superbikes at PPIR;)

:mad: First of all on sunday night im out havin a good time take a stroll to the mountains come back hit up a club i leave from the club on a good note.........A couple of guys and i take a ride thru downtown denver and were makin our way to colfax ave and one of the guys isnt payin any attention and rear ends me while i was at a stop at a light my r1 does a stoppie from the impact i fly into colfax my bike lands on its left side cracks my crank case and scratches up my mid, upper, and tail fairings thats one thing this week second thing today i was ridin i pull a nice riding stoppie b4 a light a Bee decides to come along and sting me in my neck and finally the last thing me and a few guys are pulling some nice wheelies on our wheelie strip on 3rd and kalamath im ridin a nice stand up through out the whole strip i come down look in the mirror and there is a cop right on my ass so the worst of it is i got a reckless driving ticket 8points my first offense ever hopefully the judge takes it e z on me at court:eek:

The shoulder's coming along and I've been riding, mostly alone to get my confidence back up. I'm supposed to go to a BBQ at a buddy's place that day but damn that would be a hell of a ride...did it last year and it was damn fun!

I was out there a couple of years ago and the roads were sweet, the only problem was that there were a lot of cars on the million dollar highway (I think that is what it is called) There is some good riding out by the Grand Messa too. I just need to get away for a couple of days, the roads around here are good but I am getting a bit too much confidence on them (translation, I am going too fast) so I think a change of pace is in order.

There used to be a lot of colorado peeps on the forum, but now it looks like they all left!!! SELL OUT!! GET OUT AND RIDE!!!!!

This is gonna happen on 7/20/03 at 9:00 AM at the Sonic on South Academy. Be ther no later than 9:00 am ( cause if your not there, your gonna get left behind ). I have about 12 people ready to do this, not including the Denver Peeps that Wolf will be able to round up. I'm not gonna hold my breath that all of the 12 will show, but I'm hopeful. Make sure that you bring enough money for the trip ( Gas, food, and Toll for Rocky Mtn. Nat. Forest ) - $50.00 should be plenty. PM me before 8:00 AM this morning if you need additional details. This will be an all day ride and I promise you that you'll have a great time. Do what ya can to show up at Sonic on time. so, ahh, last weekend my bike had a bit of a run in with the wrong side of a water main cover..... The cover was tiped 90 degrees, it was dark out, girlfriend on the back of the bike, and I hit it at about 45 mph. The rear tire blew out immediately, but the front tire held. Fortunately the only dammage was that both the front and rear rims were dented, and the tires where shot. Stupid road construction...

I just purchased a new set of wheels and tires, fortunately I have full coverage and because I am not at fault, my premium shouldn't be affected. I was going to try to sue the city but I have heard that it is almost impossible to do (successfully). With all the construction going on around here I have to imagine that I am not the only one getting s**t on by the city. They forget that something as small as this could have killed me and my girl. Just like areas where they ramp up from graded pavement, those things can do some serious damage if you are not carefull.
