lift the tank....examine the throttle bodies and associated hardware and inspect for any damage...loose or missing parts....etc.....replace and retune

Not sure I understand: It sounds like when you start it, it revs like you're twisting the throttle, no?
First I would check to make sure the throttle/grip is in the closed position. Next I would check to be sure there are no kinks in the cables. After that I would check to be sure the cables are both connected on the throttle bodys. Finally, (if the others don't work) take the throttle apart (at the grip, not the throttle body) and do the "push / pull" test on it to be sure it is moving correctly.
Some more info from you (what is it really doing) might help!

starting to sound like a jammed a jammed butterfly assembly...but dont quote that..
if your intakes are looking good then I would go farther into the throttle bodies and check out the butterflies and the main assemblies there in.

hey thanks alot....ok ill have to check that out...how easy do these throttle bodies break?....i crashed it..but the initial impact was not that hard...just a long slide.... everything around and on the engine looks untouched...but i know some stuff could have got shaken around...from just pulling the tank the throttle bodies look fine...should i take the throttle body off completely?

just check em before removing anything!!
I crashed mine pretty good New Years Eve...and she came out fine....mine took a 100 yard slide with me in tow right behind her....and came out fine....but if you had a hard enough impact a butterfly COULD have gotten stuck open....cehck to see if they have easy and fluid movement...if not then think about removing....I dont take anything off unless absolutey needed.

butterfly is a metal looking deal on the inner part of the throttle body....you "open" the throttle and it allows for more air to come in..closed you cant see down the TB.....and by fluid I mean non restricted movement...shouldnt hang up anywhere in its travel from fully closed (off position) to fully open (wide open throttle)
keep your ears close to the TB's (throttle bodies) and see if you can hear anything at all scraping or if you can see anything getting hung up.....that would be were I would start looking myself....sounds like something got a bit jarred and maybe hanging up some.
sucks to hear about your crash man......gear is your friend...wished I woulda had my lid on when I went down because I took a solid wallop to the head from mine...lucky I didnt fock up my brain any worse than it is already. :lol
and no need to be saying sorry...thats what the forum is about...asking questions and getting answers and making a few friends along the way. :thumbup
