With all this talk of Aprilias on the R1 board.... I heard he got ousted from the Aprilia team, but does anyone know what he's doing? Cycle World had a quip about him racing Lamborghinis (hey, not too bad) but is he going to ride the coming season? Anyone know anything?

Yeah, he´s signed up for three years with Carl Fogarty´s Petronas team i Worl Superbike. The bike is the Sauber Petronas GP effort sleeved down from 990 to 900 cc´s. There will be roadgoing versions of this bike made soon, they say. Troy´s teammate will be briton James Haydon, who has ridden in both 500GP and Superbikes before. They will debut the bike at the Laguna Seca round of WSB this year. It remains to be seen wether Carl Fogarty´s got what it takes to run such a team, and wether the bikes will ever turn a wheel... I´m not holding my breath waiting for this to work out, although I´d be pleasantly surprised if it did.

Troy has driven Lambos for quite a while outside his SBK competing.

Corser IS a truly great developement rider, and very good at getting things to work. We are in contact with Giacomo on an ongoing basis for support for our GP bikes, and I can tell you that things started falling apart in the Coser camp last season about 4 rounds in when it became apparent to the team that Cosers resolve to get a podium finish was inconsistent from race to race. Aprilia justifyably felt the bike was capable of winning the championship, and with Corser's ablity, expectations were high. Troy is a GREAT rider, but doesn't have the easiest personality also:)

Look at Haga-san the first 2 races;) He HAS COMPLETELY changed his riding style to siut the Aprilia. Both wheels inline now, square off the corner to stand the bike up earlier on the exit's to out accelerate the Duc's:yesnod Amazing. The bike would have never been to this stage without Corser. I believe Corser has some traits in common with Kocinski. A brilliant rider, but difficult brooding personality that really hurts them at times. Just an opinion:)

I have no idea how Fogarty will get a team to Laguna Seca this year... he has no bike ready... no engine... no people... no base... nothing...but he has riders. Odd.
