Hey so i figured that the consensus on tires is the michelin pilot powers, but does anyone have any feed back on the pilot sport/ sport tire?

Pilot Powers are the best tire ive used on a bike yet. The new 2CT is meant to be slightly softer, so i will be trying them next time around to compare. Dont know much about the pilot sport tire, but i suspect its a harder compound tire. but i do recommend pilot powers.

michelins used to be top dog, but the new dunlop qualifiers are better than anything out there

If you don't mind only getting about 5k in miles, then go with the Bridgestone 002 Race, get a soft front and med rear. You'll love em, Right now Ive changed to the Metzler Race Tech and to tell you the truth, I can't wait until there wore out, I feel the thing slid all the time, I only got these because the price was right. I guess it depends on you riding style, and pace, but from me it will never be anything less then a Race tire, beit the 002, or the Piliot Power Race. the 2 best out there.

5K on Pilot Power Race or 002's? Man, I'm just got 4000 miles out of a Pilot Power rear and it's GONE. My previous H2's ususally lasted 2000-2500 miles or so for the rear, a bit more for the front. Have to replace this one with another Pilot Power until the front wears out and I can change then as a set. then i'll be getting either the Pilot power race medium or the new 2ct (??). I feel the Powers "squirmy". Been running 32 PSI back and 34PSI front and have tried up/down on those numbers and thats the best performance so far. All this on a 2004 R-1.

Is the Metzler really that bad or was it just the compound was not good? I need a new rear, ran over nail. Can someone let me know what a good tire is? I am just a newby to the R1 and I don't push the bike even close to any limit yet.

What about the Pirelli Diablo's (esp. corsas)? I heard they are just as good if not better than the Michelin Pilot Powers.
