Locksmojo58 04-07-2006, 03:04 AM Hey, What do you guys think of disc brake locks or chain? Effective?:dunno blazzin 04-07-2006, 07:10 AM i think so,especially if u combine.i have the scorpio alarm and the wheel locks.nothing 100% theft proof, but gives me more peace of mind that it takes more than breaking a window and getting in my garage. to take my baby from me. Timbo70 04-21-2006, 01:25 AM Try the Xena disc locks, these things have a built in alarm that is LOUD. Just attempt to move the bike and they go off, also handy if you forget to remove the lock as the alarm should sound :scared mojo58 04-21-2006, 04:46 AM Good idea. Thanks for the info... Brian's 02 R1 04-23-2006, 11:48 PM I had a Xena on my 04, They picked it up and put it in a van or truck and drove off. I was in class for 50 min and it was gone when I got back. In my opinion I would at least lock it to a light pole or some other immobile object.
:machinegu thieves :boom Jaireme1 05-01-2006, 07:23 PM Hey Mojo58....A disc lock is very effective in keeping the honest people honest. I used to have a scorpio alarm and I sold it because it was malfunctioning. Anyway you should get a disc lock, but an alarm might be overkill in Puyallup, but I guess that depends on what part. poopdar 05-02-2006, 08:47 PM what about those bike alarms that have the 'remote' with them. tells you if your alarms going off. Would that be something to consider for my bike?? Jaireme1 05-03-2006, 05:41 AM I used to have a scorpio Se 500 which cost me about $300 and 20 minutes to install. It is a good alarm. I dumped my bike though and the kill switch kept messing with my tip sensor when I was riding causing it to shut my bike off. I am not sure if this was a isolated occurance or something that happens alot.
In anycase the scorpio was a awesome alarm very good quality. Its worth it if you live in a bad neighborhood or you just need to extra piece of mind! JR1DER 05-14-2006, 08:17 PM :thumbup I agree with all of you. I got my bike stolen last night or this morning. I made a police report and got my bike back less than an hour after the report was made. Thanks to the LoJack. Its a tracking device or gps available for bikes now. So go get yours now at www.Lojack.com. Because lets face it if someone wants your bike they'll get it with alarm locks and all. but at least you can get it back with the LoJack. | |
