Most people will park or find someplace to get out of the rain. We pulled off at a little country store until it quit. The sun came out and we dried out leathers out on the asphalt then went riding for the rest of the day. Last year we got drenched on the way back from the Whitewater raft trip, but we were soaked anyway from falling in the water time after time.

If we get caught in the rain while riding... I'm getting to cover as soon as I can. Now if the weather man says rain all day.... I'm staying at the cabins and getting drunk! :beer

You cant judge by the weather man or what it's doing at the cabin. Those mountains have little micro weather patters. It could be raining at the CRoT and be dry and sunny from the state line all the way to Tabcat bridge, or run in and out of the rain 5 times on the skyway. You have to play it by ear and talk to others coming in off the road.

I live 45 minutes from Deals Gap. Around here, a chance of rain is forcasted nearly every day in the summer months. Unless a large storm system comes in, it is usually brief, localized storms , as stated before. The most likely time for those storms is from 4pm to 8pm every day. You should plan on carrying some sort of rain gear. I'll be wearing my Aerostitch instead of my leathers, just in case...

Nothing else matters as long as your feet are dry.......I use the Dollar General Super Yellow Boot Liner Bags:)

I'll be prepared for any kind of rain. If it's a shower while riding, I'll have my 2-pc suit, rain gloves, and boot cover thingy's. If its a rain all day event, I'll have a cooler full of beer.

That mom and pop store we stopped at was pretty cool. They treated us like we were family.
