Gregg's Customs 06-23-2006, 01:12 PM Hey Guys,
I got a new little product to spice up your bikes. They are made from billet.
They are available in:
Black Anodized Aluminum
Bare Aluminum
Bare Stainless Steel
The stainless steel ones are nice and heavy if you want to keep the vibes down. They come with Stainless steel hardware. They will be available through McCoy next week and we'll put up the pricing soon.
Gregg's Customs 06-23-2006, 01:13 PM Here's another pic. These are both of the Bare Aluminum ones.

The only thing that was hurt besides the bike was my pride. Bike got scratched up pretty good. Pretty much all body work will need to be replaced. Along with a bunch of parts on the left side... headlight, ram air tube, rearset, frame slider and bar end.

yellowducking 06-27-2006, 11:27 PM Alright guys, let me be the first to give a review on this barend from Gregg.
I just picked it up today.
yellowducking 06-27-2006, 11:34 PM A little of background about myself for those who don't know me, here are the bikes and some of the reviews that I had done....
http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=166520&highlight=carbon+silver
http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=162771&highlight=carbon+silver
http://r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=114168&highlight=yellowducking+carbon
The main goal of my review is to help forum's members with his/her next purchase. With that in mind, I am very honest in my opinions and brutally straight-forward.
yellowducking 06-27-2006, 11:40 PM I dropped by Gregg's shop to look at his latest creation. He had two versions on the table, the aluminum and the stainless steel.
One look at the design and I was in love. Man, this thing looks way way sexy. I honestly had not seen a bar-end on the market that I like until till today.
yellowducking 06-27-2006, 11:42 PM Left side
yellowducking 06-27-2006, 11:43 PM Right Side
yellowducking 06-27-2006, 11:43 PM Top view - both sides
yellowducking 06-27-2006, 11:52 PM I decided to get the stainless steel version. Good thing that they are heavier than the stock ones to help with the vibration. I would recommend you guys to get the stainless steel; afterall, the whole reason behind buying an aftermarket bar-ends is to add little weight to help with the vibration on the bars.
Now, if you recalled, the Tokens are the silver carbon grips made for bicycle. They are a bit longer than the stocks ones. My thought was to get Gregg's bar-end and fabricate my own washers and screws. To my surprise, Gregg went straight to his machine shop and made one for me, right on the spot.
yellowducking 06-28-2006, 12:02 AM I had always been a big fan of Gregg's products. As you can see on my 04, I dressed the bike with all of his goods. There are several reasons why I chose his products over others:
- Very high quality, high workmanship.
- Fitting and installation is always a walk in the park.
- He stands behind his work. A few years back, I brought back an older flushmount that got burned out. He replaced it for free.
But most importantly, whenever I stand next to Gregg and chat with him about bikes, it feels like I am talking to one of my good friend. This guy is really down to earth, just like you and me. A very cool dude, indeed.
His new bar-end creation get my big thumb-up of approval. Look at the pics and tell me if you can find a better one on the market.
Get on the list and put this on your must-get mods.

Pro-Tek! You can get them anodized black for no extra cost directly from Pro-Tek. Buyer beware... it took me 6 months of bitching to get one made, anodized black!!! Ordered 5/16/2005 - Received 1/11/2006 BUT I GOT IT! :crash
yelllowducking when exactly did you get yours? I wanna know who had theirs first! :sneaky

You definitely should definitely get the anodized black pro-tek for your raven. It looks bitching on Kev's bike.
Keep in mind though that removing the stock triple clamp will not be that easy. You will need to drill out the two screws that hold the ignition in place.

Yup, it does take a bit for those guys to anodize one for you if they don't have it in stock. But, it's real cool that they do it for free.
I got it on tues during lunch. Gregg's garage in only few minutes from my work.

Cool, hey if my wife calls tell her I ordered them before the Gap trip but they were back ordered and just shipped and you only charge when you ship. :D
SpidermanSS 07-15-2006, 04:51 PM OK LOL
Gregg's Customs 07-17-2006, 11:34 AM My CRG adaptors are anodized Black. If you guys bug Shane enough, he'll take a picture for you.
rorlow 07-17-2006, 06:05 PM looky . . . looky . . . a GC package
rorlow 07-17-2006, 06:13 PM here they are . . . powder coated billet SST, incredably well made & nice and hefty, beautiful machining on them :rock
I have to admit, I changed my mind and wanted the natural SST, after a quick phone call to Gregg, it was a done deal, return them & he's gonna swap them out.
Gregg is amazing when it comes to customer service, the guy is incredable, no questions ask . . . just return them :bow
Not to long ago he helped me out by getting my Woodcraft case anodized for me, he goes out of his way to help, as stated above he is incredably down to earth :yesnod
So with this transaction, there's no way I can pass up the GC CRG adapter too, just gotta order it now :thumbup
crashgordon 07-18-2006, 08:50 AM Here you go guys. This is the mirror adaptor on my bike. They are coming in black only right now. But you can't really see the adaptor once the mirror is on the bike anyway. :rock
crashgordon 07-18-2006, 09:13 AM Here is one with the mirror attached. Works perfect, just like everything else Gregg makes! :fact

good thing there's only one color/finish, otherwise it might be really difficult after the barend purchase, maybe I took more of a knock to my melon in the crash, then I originally thought :2bitchsla
SpidermanSS 07-18-2006, 08:34 PM hahaha... thanks for the business Ron!
Spinkick 07-19-2006, 12:38 AM cant wait for these
ColonCleansR1 07-19-2006, 04:14 PM ordered one!
Gregg, have you guys done up an 06 zx10 yet? Any pictures? I'm looking at getting a custom exhaust made... any idea's?
Spinkick 07-20-2006, 08:24 PM so how flush should the bar end fit? there is a little neck at the base, that is supposed to stick out, right? do you put the grip over that?
crashgordon 07-21-2006, 07:04 AM Spinkick,
They do have a little lip that sticks out so the grip won't touch against it. You can see this a little bit from the pic I posted above. Sorry the weren't in better focus.
Thanks,
Spinkick 07-21-2006, 08:05 AM Thanks, I see it now. These things are cool

aarrgghhh!!! you don't have a number, like in oz's, should I e-mail Gregg instead?
My main reason for them are vibration dampening, although they do look killer, my hands get numb :(
SpidermanSS 08-13-2006, 04:27 PM I could cut a set out of the shrink wrapped package and put them on our UPS scales if it helps... Sorry I don't have one off the top of my head just the info that came from Gregg. The reason we have the stainless option is for less vibrations but if your getting numb hands bad I can talk with Gregg about a custom solution maybe 2-3 times longer.. :)

Nah no biggie, don't want to waste his time on a custom set just for me :D But you could put the package on the scale without cutting and ruining the package, then I'll divide by 2 and take an oz or two off for the cardboard and screws :)

Gregg's Customs 08-15-2006, 01:31 PM Hey Triprock, You should check all your engine mounting bolts on your bike. They have a tendency to loosen up. When they are loose, the bike vibrates a lot more. The '04-'06 R1's are generally pretty smooth.
