I have had a couple various model Garmin units. I liked them all when I had them but since I bought my Lowrance iWay I'd never go back to Garmin. http://www.lowrance.com/Automotive/Products/iWAY500C.asp I like the fact that Lowrance has FREE updates, Garmin always offers "special price" for a valued customer but the special price is still around $300 :yuk: I do not use the GPS on the R1 but I have it mounted to other bikes (lots of vibration and heat) and it's seen downpours of rain ... never had any issues.

I use a Navman 510 on my bike every once in a while. It's small and can be removed quickly and easy. I just use the internal battery for power, decided to hold off on the hard wire but might do that later. This model or the 520 or the 530(newest) are touch screen and work very well, Plus they are reasonable priced but are not water proof. The 530icn is on sale at buy.com now. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202651989&adid=17654&dcaid=17654
